"It affects a woman's life on a deeper level if you don't practice safe sex" - Sumeet Vyas

Sumeet Vyas will soon be seen in ‘Chhatriwali’. Helmed by Tejas Vijay Deoskar, the film talks about sex education and is also an honest approach to creating the right sense of awareness about a sensitive subject through cinema. Sumeet Vyas who plays a titular role in the film shared exclusively that, it’s been quite a journey for him to pick up an unconventional subject.

Talking about it, the actor opened up at length.

How is your equation with your parents and your partner when it comes to discussing about sex education and safe sex do you discuss such projects before taking it up?

No, I don't discuss my projects with anyone at home. I just don't like taking work home. About safe sex education, they haven’t really spoken outrightly to me about it and neither have I asked about it to them. However, with my partner, of course, we have spoken about this topic and it’s obvious that we should have a certain discussion about it. My wife and I don’t really shy away from discussing things which are important and for a women’s safety."

What message will you like to give all men out there in the context to Chhatriwali?

Have more empathy for the woman you are with. It affects their life on a deeper level then yours if you don’t practice safe sex. Whether it about pregnancy or getting sexually transmitted diseases, it’s the women who must bear the brunt. So, my conclusion is to have more empathy towards the women."

Sumeet Vyas has had quite an eventful 2022, as he was shooting for not one but four back-to-back projects. He also saw the release of season 3 of his popular series, Tripling.
