The trailer of Sarzameen has brought a wave of appreciation for Ibrahim Ali Khan, who has managed to surprise many with his impactful screen presence. Released recently on Jio Hotstar’s YouTube channel, the trailer highlights a tense father-son dynamic, with Ibrahim playing Harman, the son of Kajol and army officer Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Initially, the teaser sparked mixed reactions. Some netizens mocked Ibrahim, calling him “Wolverine Lite” and recalling his underwhelming debut in Nadaaniyan. There were doubts about whether he could carry such a layered role in a film that deals with themes of identity, conflict, and familial tensions. But the trailer seems to have turned public opinion, even though Ibrahim doesn’t utter a single word in it.
Directed by Kayoze Irani, son of veteran actor Boman Irani, and backed by Karan Johar, Sarzameen is set to premiere on Jio Hotstar on July 25. The plot suggests a fractured father-son relationship, with Kajol’s character caught emotionally between the two. The trailer hints at a darker subplot—questions arise whether Harman has become a terrorist or if someone else has taken over his identity. The suspense continues to grip audiences.
Despite his silent role in the trailer, Ibrahim’s expressions and intensity have been widely praised. A user commented, “Itni natural acting iggy Impressed boss,” while another posted, “Brooo Ibrahim ate this UP in #Sarzameen trailer. That screen presence?? Too good 🔥🔥🔥.” A third wrote, “Star kid nahi, future star lag raha hai 🔥.”
Prithviraj Sukumaran, meanwhile, has also received immense praise. Known for his powerful performances, his strong presence hasn’t gone unnoticed. A viewer shared, “Even watched the trailer on mute, and Prithviraj still held my attention,” while another said, “In Salaar, I found him better than Prabhas.”
Fans are especially excited about Kajol’s role, with some comparing her emotional performance to her Fanaa days. With all three actors generating buzz, expectations from Sarzameen have risen sharply after the trailer launch. Whether the film delivers on its promise remains to be seen, but for now, Ibrahim seems to have silenced his critics.
