New Delhi, Oct 12 (IANS) If you're one of those who believes in jazzing up your look with your tresses, opt for high ponytails and center parting for that trendier look, say celebrity stylists Yatan Ahluwalia and Jojo.
"Smooth low as well as high ponytails for a younger look are in trend. One can also add glamour in sophisticated knots with a high gloss finish. Centre partings is a strong trend for most hairstyles, with an end of side partings," Jojo told IANS.
Yatan said: "Our forecast for spring-summer 2014 hair trends are wavy, crimped, matt and heavily textured (sunkissed) open or partially tied hair with an emphasis on romantic, soft and feminine styling."At the ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week spring-summer 2014, fashion specialists Yatan and Jojo have joined hands with L'Oréal Professionnel to create and direct some major looks for the fashion extravaganza. Some of the prominent shows for which they styled the models' hair are of designers Anupama Dayal, Masaba Gupta, Pia Pauro, Shivan & Narresh, Pankaj & Nidhi and Krishna Mehta.
The duo believes that Indians have a different hair texture, which is often difficult to take care of. So, the use of a good conditioner can help a lot.
"Hair care is very important to get the desired end result," said Jojo.
Make up too plays an important part in making or breaking one's overall personality.
The duo feels that women must use shades of coral, red, peach and brick pink for lips, while eyeshadows in neutral skin tones work well too.
"Gentle colour stained cheeks in peach, pink and coral is ideal," said Yatan.
Jojo added: "Sheer skin with a hint of sheen on the face and glossy coloured nails in white, red, peach and yellow is very in."
The most common trend opted for by most participating designers at the ongoing fashion event is nude for skin, eyes and lips and lot of texture for hair.
With so much focus on hair and make up, are hair and make up trends seen on the runway more adaptable by commoners now?
"Yes, thankfully what you see on the runway can be seen on the street. Ultimately, fashion has to connect to the people. Trends need to be tangible, real and easy for everyone to adapt," said Yatan.
Jojo believes "trends should be adapted, never followed blindly".
