Fighter Star Unveils: Bipasha-Karan's Daughter Devi's Chest-to-Stomach Scar Story

Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover tied the knot in 2016. They were blessed with their daughter in November 2022, and ever since, their social media has been brimming with cute photos and videos of their little one. In a recent interview, Karan shared about their daughter Devi's open-heart surgery at only three months old, following the discovery of two heart defects.

When discussing life's hurdles, Karan revealed to Dainik Bhaskar that though he's been lucky to avoid major challenges, there was a tough phase when they confronted a major issue with their daughter. He expressed that period as immensely challenging, highlighting his daughter's critical health condition, a distressing experience beyond words.

He continued, “My daughter is a true fighter. She has a long scar on her chest that goes till her stomach. Whatever we think and achieve in our lives is nothing compared to her. Whatever she and her mother (Bipasha) have gone through, it cannot be compared. Nothing like this has happened in my life, I am very lucky. My daughter has proved that she is a true fighter.”

During a chat in 2023 with actor Neha Dhupia, Bipasha recounted the emotional journey of Devi's diagnosis. She recalled how Karan was profoundly upset, to the extent that she had to request him to step out of the ICU on occasion.

The Dhoom actress shared her experience of encountering Devi in the ICU for the first time, encompassed by monitors and sporting a chest bandage, which left her deeply moved. She praised Devi as a "brave heart," highlighting her remarkable strength in the face of adversity.

Bipasha revealed that the doctors informed them about Devi's condition on the third day post her birth. They mentioned the potential for the heart holes to close naturally with time. Despite this, the doctors recommended regular scans for Bipasha and Karan to track any developments.

When there was no progress, they concluded that Devi would require surgery. Bipasha shared that Devi's surgery went smoothly, and she had unwavering faith in it. However, during the six-hour operation, time seemed to stand still for her.
