Colorful is the word which best describes the recent Vogue Beauty Awards held on 21st July, 2015. Brightly hued gowns paired with cute clutches, subtle jewelry and stunning pair of heels always grab our attention thus BollyCurry's Fashion Police observed all the ensembles of the glamourous night and is back with highlights (and lowlights) of the show.

After splashing the red carpet of IIFA with a matching red gown, Anushka Sharma was back on the floor with another of Gauri and Nainika's creations. Dressed in a pastel yellow floor length gown with minimal accessories, lips painted a pretty pink and hair done up in a curly ponytail, Sharma looked picture perfect. For donning a subtle look and carrying it with great panache, Sharma gets a thumbs up from us. Rating: 4.5/5
Neha Dhupia looked dazzling in a royal blue gown designed by Gauri and Nainika as well. The cocktail neckline and smokey eye makeup, along with the quirky magic ball clutch by Judith Leiber accentuated the gown very well. The only complaint we have is the lack of jewelry and hair tied up in a severe bun. Long earrings or loose tresses would have improved the look much more. Rating: 3/5
Dressed in Dior from top to bottom, Fawad Khan looked absolutely dashing in black. The whole formal look reminded us of his character in Khoobsurat and just as we appreciated him then, we do now too. The winner of "Most Beautiful Man of the Year" definitely deserved his award. Rating: 5/5
The leading lady of The Lunchbox grabbed our attention when she graced the show dressed in an off-shoulder emerald green gown. The lack of jewelry might seem like a drawback on other actresses but Ms. Kaur looked perfect. With her hair swept sideways, this actress surely knew how to look her best. Rating: 4.5/5
Swara Bhaskar had our eyes widening at her outfit as she wore a graphic printed fusion saree and sleeveless top with the bottom fashioned in a dhoti style. The colors on the saree were funky and her messy plaited hair matched the look. However, while the Fashion Police applauds Bhaskar for attempting such a bold look, we don't think the Vogue Awards is a place to do it. Standing out as the "odd one out" in crowd full of elegance, Bhaskar had us shaking our heads. Rating: 2/5
Stunning and beautiful are the words that came to our minds when we glimpsed Sophie Choudry. Dressed in a BCBG black printed gown with matching earrings and a Bottega Veneta knot clutch, Choudry most definitely stole the show. The makeup was kept to the right dose of light which complimented her hair being pulled behind in a loose bun. We definitely approve her look! Rating: 5/5
Looking eye catching in yellow was the daughter of Suniel Shetty, Athiya Shetty. Debuting very soon in Bollywood, this winner of the Fresh Face award wore a Gauri and Nainika's yellow sleeveless gown contrasted with a dark lip shade. While the open hair made her features look very sharp, the color of her gown did not do her justice and the fish like frills weren't impressive either. Fashion Police shook their heads again. Rating: 3/5
Overall, the Vogue Beauty Awards have been quite predictable with almost all the celebrities opting for gowns with only one or two choosing sarees or anarkalis. But no one can deny that the fashion quotient of the show was high and the event was a success. We enjoyed feasting our eyes on our celebrities but we hope that instead of playing safe they soon step out and try something bold and unique!

Nimrat should've gotten a 4 to be honest. And Swara should've gotten a 1, not a 2. And seriously?! Athiya should've gotten a 5!
