Nayanthara, Dhanush Saga: Fans of the Idly Kadai actor slam actress for calling him 'nepotism product'

Nayanthara and Dhanush fans are having an ugly fight on social media after the actress sent him an open letter accusing him of being ‘vile’ and holding grudges for over a decade. In the letter she has addressed him as son of Kasthoori Raja and brother of Selvaraghavan. While people have mixed reactions on the content of the letter, many feel it was baseless to address Dhanush as a product of nepotism. While he might hail from a film family, his talent is for the world to see. Whether it is Kollywood, Bollywood or Hollywood, he has shown his excellence in all film industries. 

Fans are pointing out how a number of actresses like Parvathy, Shruti Haasan, Anupama Parmeswaran, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Gouri Kishan and others have liked her post. Nayanthara said that Dhanush’s humble down-to-earth nature is just a façade, and he is a very insecure person. As we know, the movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan that released in 2015 played an important role in the love story of Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara. Dhanush did not allow them to use any footage from that film for her Netflix documentary. There is only a very short clip, which Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan have shot on their own camera.

Nayanthara’s Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale is about the life and trials of the Jawan actress. It has cameos from some of her colleagues like Nagarjuna. It seems Dhanush had incurred losses during the making of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, which is why he was upset with the actress. Others said that Nayanthara once did a song in his movie for free, and he could have easily let bygones be bygones. Dhanush has slapped a Rs 10 crore legal suit on them for free use of footage from the movie. Nayanthara said she fought for a No Objection Certificate for two years. 

Dhanush has three movies lined up for 2024 and 2025. He is also doing a movie with Kriti Sanon for Aanand L Rai. Nayanthara made her debut in Bollywood with Jawan that had Shah Rukh Khan in the lead.
