Esha Deol made her acting debut with Boney Kapoor’s "Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe." However, entering Bollywood was not a straightforward journey for the daughter of legendary actors Hema Malini and Dharmendra.
In a recent conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Esha revealed the challenges she faced in her early career, particularly the difficulty of convincing her father, Dharmendra, to let her pursue acting. Despite her family's deep roots in the film industry, she had to make a significant effort to win his approval.
Esha shared, “When I wanted to join movies, it was a little… to get the green signal to join films, but once that happened, Boney ji (Kapoor) showed me the script of Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe. I also liked Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, and I was shooting for both these films simultaneously."
She elaborated that her father’s resistance wasn’t due to a lack of faith in her abilities but stemmed from his protective nature. "Not because of anything else, but because he is more protective as a male, and he wanted to keep us more private. I was, on the other hand, all excited and ready to fly," she explained.
In addition to her professional reflections, Esha recently made headlines with news about her personal life. After nearly 11 years of marriage, she announced her separation from her husband, Bharat Takhtani. This development marks a new chapter in her life, both personally and professionally.
