Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh to become parents; duo announce pregnancy

After all the speculations and rumour mills doing rounds, the cat is finally out of the bag and Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have officially announced that they are pregnant. The duo took to their social media handles and with a joint post they shared a poster with baby stuff drawn in the background and the caption- “Deepika Ranveer - September”

It was earlier this month when Deepika attended the BAFTA awards 2024, that her appearance and a visible belly had raised eyebrows amongst the onlookers and netizens about her expecting soon. 

Reports had circulated speculating Deepika Padukone's pregnancy after she allegedly concealed her midriff at the 77th BAFTA red carpet, donning a shimmering Sabyasachi Mukherjee saree and custom jewelry.

In a January interview with Vogue Singapore, when asked about looking forward to motherhood, Deepika expressed enthusiasm, stating that she and Ranveer Singh adore children and aspire to instill the same values they cherish in their own future family. She said, “Absolutely. Ranveer and I love children. We look forward to the day when we will start our own family.” My family keeps me grounded and Ranveer and I hope to inculcate the same values in our children.”

The couple, who married on November 14, 2018, after a six-year courtship, commemorated their fifth wedding anniversary in Belgium last November. They initially crossed paths on the set of Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela and subsequently collaborated on Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat.
