For a long time now, report about the cast of the sequel of 'Student of the Year' are making rounds. Many names were being speculated, out of which Tiger Shroff was one.

So to put an end to all the rumors, on the occasionof Independence day today, filmmaker Karan Johar announced the sequel of the 2012 hit film "Student of the year" (SOTY) with actor Tiger Shroff as the male lead.

Karan took to Twitter to confirm the news. He posted: "It's official...Directed by Punit Malhotra 'Student of the Year 2' ('SOTY2') with Tiger Shroff."

On the other hand, Tiger Shroff who had maintained stoic silence till now about he being roped in for SOTY 2, also took to his social media accout to announce the good news and share his excitement with his fans.

Tiger tweeted: "Wound up and charged sir! Yahoo Karan Johar, Punit Malhotra, 'Student of the Year 2'."

"Student of the Year" is a coming-of-age romantic comedy that was directed by Karan Johar and had marked the debut of actors Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. The film was a massive hit at the box office. It was loved by many youngsters, mainly for the interesting story line and the posh college life that it portrayed. It had also set a number of fashion trends all across.

Sidharth too expressed his excitement and posted: "Sounds exciting Karan Johar can't wait to watch it best of luck Punit Malhotra and Tiger Shroff."

Meanwhile, Tiger is awaiting the release of his upcoming superhero flick "A Flying Jatt" where he will be seen opposite Jacqueline Fernandes.

benefits of being a star kid. you will get enough chance big movies even you do not know an iota of acting.
i feel sorry for all the talented actors/newcomers from the tv industry or from outside of industry
most of them do not even get proper chance to show their talents

most of them are way better than so called star kids

we are missing out seeing probable good actors only because Bollywood's favors only star kids

This dude Tiger doesn't know the a of acting! Why don't they cast some talented actors from tv industry? They launched alia sid varun with Soty, now it would be cool if they launch new 3 faces from tv industry!! Bollywood hardly gives chances to tv actors! Only a few like Sushant makes it in bollywood.
I think most of them are so talented and good looking than some overrated actors in bollywood!!

I didnt bother watching SOTY thanks to some songs which helped me in deciding, I kind of like Tiger but then again, I havent seen Baaghi as its a remake, Good Luck TS.

what SOTY had interesting story line?? Joke of the year...it had no story line and what ever was shown did not make any sense ..yes alia, varun and sidharth looked good but that's it..the movie they did after SOTY would have been a better launch for them..and tiger shroff doesn't look like student..

Massive hit??? HAHAHAHAHA!! SOTY was a below average film and a pathetic one!! KKHH was a trillion times better! Only good thing about SOTY were Ram Kapoor and Ronit Roy. Tiger Shroff aint made for romantic comedies. Bollywood seriously needs to stop making romantic comedies and come up with different stuff! What else can we expect from this loser Karan Johar?
