All eyes are on Rohit Shetty's upcoming projects after another box office hit in the form of Sooryavanshi, with everybody from the industry and trade to the media and audience are waiting to witness his next, big hit.

Also it's easy to make out by the prospect, that it might be belonging to the same cop universe as Singham, Simmba and Sooryavanshi.

While Rohit Shetty smartly teases us about it during the climax of the former, let's not forget that first, the Sooryavanshi Director will be dishing out Cirkus, starring Ranveer Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hegde and Varun Sharma.

Recently there have been numerous reports that Cirkus is a modern take on Gulzar's classic 1982 comedy, Angoor, with Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma being swapped for Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma's roles.

However, in an interview with a news portal Rohit Shetty said about the same , he not only refuted it, but also revealed what Cirkus is actually based on.

The Sooryavanshi director says,

“We've made a cute. comedy film with Ranveer called Cirkus. It's not similar to Angooor at all. If I have to genuinely tell you, Cirkus is not Angoor, it's Comedy of Errors, which is a Shakespearean play, on which numerous films have been made. In black and white, Do Dooni Chaar was made, Angoor was made, even in Bengali there's an adaptation of Comedy of Errors".

He further added,

"Some have also written books on it. So, it's from that play, but it's a totally different take, a different universe, if I have to tell you. And there's a lot of time left for it to release, too, as we had to wait a long time for Sooryavanshi and now we're promoting it. We don't have any release date in mind (for Angoor), we'll complete it's last schedule in December".

The film is currently earning well at the box office and managed to enter the coveted 100 crore club in just five days of its release.

Sooryavanshi’ recorded a strong run on day eight as well and has reportedly earned Rs 6.75-7 crore net.

The total earnings of the film have touched around 127 crore nett. ‘Sooryavanshi’ is expected to touch the 150 crore nett mark at the end of its second week.
