BollyCurry is back once again to bring you a new star this week in our Celebrity in the Spotlight segment! This week we have the comedy king and the eerie villain, Paresh Rawal!

Paresh Rawal, born on May 30, 1959 in Mumbai, is an indian film actor with a Gujarati background. Married to actress and winner of Miss India 1979, Swaroop Sampat, the couple have two sons; Aditya and Aniruddh. Paresh Rawal graduated from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics.

Making his debut in the industry with the film Holi in 1984, it wasn't until the 1986 release Naam, that he was established as an actor. He received recognition for his role of a bank robber in the 1991 film Kshana Kshanam, and is known to have appeared in over 100 films throughout the 80s and 90s. 

Some of his noteworthy roles include the freedom fighter Vallabhbhai Patel in Sardar, a eunuch in Tamanna and the most famous Baburao Ganpatrao Apte in Hera Pheri, which has been his most successful film till date! Each role of his has always given him praise, be it for his comic timing, his emotional attribution or his creepiness from being a villain. 

Paresh Rawal has been acknowledged with many awards for his outstanding performance including the National award for best supporting actor for Woh Chokri and Sir, and even won the FilmFare award for best villain for the latter. Along with that he won the best comedian FilmFare and many other awards for Hera Pheri and Awara Pagal Deewana.

Along with films, he also tried his hand at television in a few Doordarshan serials including Bante Bighadte and Chunauti. But that's not all, he has also made quite a name for himself in the theater as well. He has starred in many plays and has performed in various places overseas.
