industry, she got a break in Hindi cinema when she starred as a child
artist in the movie Julie.
Over the years she went on to play various roles and finally got her big break and recognition as an actress in the movie Moondru Mudichu
(1976), opposite Kamal Hasan and Rajnikanth, and with whom she went on
to star in many blockbuster Tamil films. After doing various movies for
the Tamil film industry, Sridevi re-joined the Bollywood industry as an
adult in 1979, in the movie Solva Sawan opposite Amol Palekar.
However, she was still more active in the Tamil industry and did only a
few roles here and there in Indian films.
Having
done numerous films in her native place, she decided it was time to get
back to Bollywood and came back with a bang in the 1983 movie Himmatwala,
opposite Jeetendra. The movie went on to be a blockbuster hit, thus
naming Sridevi as an actress par excellence. After that there was no
stopping her as she went on to do many movies such as Tohfa, Mawaali,

After
making the right choices professionally, Sridevi went on to make the
right personal decision in her life and got married to director Boney
Kapoor, brother of her co-star from many films, Anil Kapoor. The two got
married in 1996 and now have two daughters, Jhanvi and Khushi.
After taking a long hiatus from movies of at least 15 years, Sridevi finally made a comeback in 2012 with Gauri Shinde's English Vinglish.
The movie garnered a lot of praise and critical acclaim, and her role
was appreciated by all! After the success of the film, it is said that
she is the only actress in Bollywood who made a positive and blockbuster
comeback after a really long hiatus! The film garnered her a lot of
praise which also resulted in her being nominated for best actress in
various award ceremonies and she even went on to win quite a few of
