Anupamaa: Shah family's New Year celebration takes a serious turn with Prem's return

Anupamaa on Star Plus continues to dominate the TRP charts with its heartfelt storytelling and intricate family dynamics. Anupama's relationship with her daughter, Rahi, continues to be a central theme as Rahi navigates the challenges of settling into life with Anupama. Meanwhile, Prem, who secretly harbours feelings for Rahi, supports her silently, even as he faces his own challenges with Mahi, who's also drawn to him. 

In the latest episode, Ishani excitedly invites Ansh, Mahi, and Pari to a grand Diwali party at the upscale Veda Farmhouse. Anticipating family disapproval, especially for a party on Diwali, Prem suggests they tell their families they're attending a friend's Satsang, leaving Rahi uneasy with the deception.

At the party, Rahi steps in as a server to assist, unaware that Meet and his friends have spiked the drinks. As a result, Ansh, Mahi, Pari, and Ishani unknowingly consume alcohol-laced beverages, leading to uninhibited behaviour. Upon their return home, Anupamaa is shocked, and Leela quickly blames her for trusting Prem and Rahi. In a drunken state, Ishani accuses Rahi of serving the drinks, while Ansh reveals Prem encouraged the lie. Despite their explanations, Anupamaa ultimately asks Prem to leave and chastises Rahi for her attitude.

Anupama makes a grand entrance, greeting everyone warmly and expressing that the New Year signifies a fresh beginning, which the family needs, especially after the previous night's events. The Shah children, visibly remorseful for their actions, silently reflect on their mistakes.

Determined to lift the mood, Anupama encourages everyone to put the past behind them for a day and celebrate as a united family. She extends her hand, inviting their support, and one by one, they place their hands over hers, with Rahi initially hesitant but eventually joining in. Although Prem defends himself, saying the Shahs would disapprove of their attendance, Anupama's frustration peaks, nearly leading her to slap him before Pakhi and Toshu intervene, admitting they attend parties openly without lying.

Meanwhile, family dynamics get tense as Kinjal's comments on Pari's weight spark a confrontation about respect and control within the Shah family. Ishani and Ansh voice similar frustrations over the family's rules, while Mahi admits feeling like an outsider. Anupama ultimately decides Prem and Rahi have misguided the children, asking Prem to leave the house and warning Rahi as well.
