Anupam Kher shares Govinda’s health update post bullet injury

On October 1, 2024, at around 4:45 AM, Govinda accidentally shot himself with his revolver while trying to store it in the almirah before leaving the city. After the incident, he was quickly taken to the hospital, where he underwent surgery and spent a few days recovering.

Anupam Kher posted a video on his Instagram where he spoke with the actor's brother. He shared that Govinda is recovering well from the accidental injury, and he feels relieved to hear that news.

The post read, "Encounter in the Park: I was so happy to meet #KirtiKumar ji after a long long time. Kirti ji directed one of my favourite films #Hatya. We spoke about many things, including my friend and his younger brother #Govinda’s leg injury. Relieved to know that he is progressing well."

The post further read, "We also spoke about time spent together, 90’s cinema, and also importance of being kind in life. Nice to meet you my friend! See you soon with a film script! Jai Ho!".

The accident occurred while Govinda was placing his licensed revolver in a cupboard, and it accidentally fell, causing a bullet to discharge. Shashi noted that the injury was below Govinda's left knee, but the bullet had been successfully removed. Hours after being admitted to the hospital, Govinda released a voice note to reassure his fans and the media about his condition. In the message, he expressed his gratitude for the support he had received, stating that thanks to the blessings of his family, parents, and guru, he had been shot but that the bullet had been removed.

He said, “Namaste, pranam. This is Govinda. Thanks to your blessings, my parents' blessings, and the grace of my guru... I was shot, but the bullet has been removed. I am deeply thankful to the doctors here, especially Dr. Agarwal. Thank you all for your prayers and support."
