Anees Bazmee reveals if Akshay Kumar & Vidya Balan will appear in 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2'

Today marked the day when the trailer of one of the most-anticipated movies of 2022 dropped - in the form of Bhool Bhulaiya 2. The horror comedy sequel stars Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, who take over the reigns from Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan from the original.

The trailer has attained somewhat of a mixed response so far, where people cannot help but compare it to the original and even talk about how they are missing the original even more, after watching the trailer to this sequel. In fact, the immediate question that arose was if at all, Kumar and Balan will be seem playing cameos in the sequel or will be a part of the sequel in one way or another.

At the trailer launch, answering these speculations once and for all, director Anees Bazmee stepped up saying that unfortunately neither of the two actors will be seen in the sequel. He told that the script didn't allow them to come on board. He admitted that Kumar being in the film would have benefited the project but he said, “we have taken a different approach to the script. Everyone's character is fresh except Rajpal Yadav.”

Bhool Bhulaiya was directed by Priyadarshan, and just like the change in cast, the sequel also has Bazmee taking over the reigns as the director. The film is set for release on 20th May 2022.
