Akshay Kumar's much-awaited film 'Laxmmi Bomb' is all set to release on Disney+Hotstar.
The film is a remake of the Tamil movie Muni 2: Kanchana and stars Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani in lead roles. Laxmmi Bomb was initially scheduled to release in theatres on May 22. However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it took the OTT route.
Khiladi Kumar is all geared up to play the role of a lifetime: a transgender in this movie. Speaking of the same, Akshay said in a recent press conference that was held digitally:
"Laxmmi Bomb was a mentally intensive role. It is 'never experienced before' kind of role. Playing a transgender was mentally tough. It is different than anything else I've ever done before and I had to take care of the smallest things, right from how to walk to how to sit."
"It was also a little difficult because I had to stay true to the character but also make sure that I do not offend any community in any way. For the first time in my career, I willingly gave more takes and retakes" he adds.
Akshay had shared the first poster of the film, giving a sneak peek into his look. Donning a saree, the actor looked fierce in the poster. And today, the makers have shared new posters of the film, that will surely impress you and leave you wanting for more.
Check out the new posters here:
Speaking about playing a transgender character, he said, ”I would like to thank my director Lawrence sir. He introduced me to a version of me that I didn't know existed. This character is different to all the characters I have ever portrayed. Even after doing 150 films, I was genuinely excited to be on set every single day, pushing the boundaries, learning more about myself.
He further added, ”This film has taught me to be even more understanding about gender equality. Be anything you want, but don't be ignorant. Kindness is key to peace.”
When Ajay Devgn, who was also present at the press conference was asked about his reaction to seeing Akshay Kumar in a saree, he said:
"I cannot say Ajay looked hot, but he looked very graceful in the saree."
Meanwhile, apart from Laxmmi Bomb, six other big banner films including Ajay Devgn's Bhuj: The Pride of India, Alia Bhatt's Sadak 2, Sushant Singh Rajput's Dil Bechara, Abhishek Bachchan's Big Bull, Kunal Khemmu's Lootcase and Vidyut Jammwal's Khuda Haafiz will now release directly on Disney+Hotstar.
