Akshay Kumar has recently been acting in many patriotic movies like Kesari, Pad Man, Gold, and many more. His recent venture Mission Mangal is a real-life story of the Indian Space Research Organisation's Mars Orbiter Mission which made Mars more accessible to explore.
According to Hindustan Times, today during the trailer launch of Mission Mangal, the 51-year-old actor said that though he plays the role of mission director Rakesh Dhawan in the film who leads the initiative, the film is all about women. He said, “This film is about the women and it will always be.” “Bringing five female actors together was such a difficult task. I had to do the film,” he added.

Khiladi Kumar further told that the real Mars mission, Mangalyaan, cost only 450 crores, whereas his movie 2.0 had a budget of 500 crores. He said, “We didn’t have that much knowledge about Mars Orbiter Mission before we started working on the film. But slowly we came to know a lot, and it is because of Jagan (director Jagan Shakti). Mangalyaan cost only Rs 450 crores while NASA spent more than Rs 6000 crore for American Maven orbiter. My film 2.0 had a budget of 500 crore and this was less than that, so we are so proud.”

Earlier this month when John Abraham was asked about the clash between Batla House, Mission Mangal and Saaho, he said, “Honestly if there was a controversy, I would have loved to create it. But Akshay and I are very good friends and we really get along.
"In fact, we messaged each other a couple of days ago. There is absolutely nothing. We are only releasing two films on the same day. There is enough space and the audience will get an opportunity to choose from good films. I can definitely say that our film is very good. I can say that the audience at least has one choice for sure. I hope the other two films are good too. August 15 is a great day for films to release.”
Adding to the same Akshay replied, “As John had said, ‘Make some noise for Desi boys’. We have only 52 weeks in a year and more than 100 films are coming in a year. We are friends, so there is no problem in coming together with our films. Nobody should be blamed for it. Now 2-3 films are coming together. In the future, we will have even more films coming together.”
