Directed by Farhad Samji, and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Housefull 4 stars an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde, and Kriti Kharbanda. Besides, Chunky Panday and Johnny Lever just add the ultimate touch of perfection to the film. The film revolves around a unique concept of reincarnation, despite being a comedy-drama, making it one of its kind.
While the film has been receiving a good response from the audience, many critics from the industry are upset with the makers of Housefull 4 over the inflation of box-office numbers of the film.
A few days ago, producer Ronnie Screwvala among several trade analysts and critics, had taken a direct jibe at the makers and criticized the Housefull 4 makers of inflating the film’s box-office numbers by a huge margin.
However, in a recent media interaction, the leading man of the film, Akshay Kumar denied all such reports and stated that "nobody is going to lie for this".
When asked whether he is upset about it, the actor said, "Do I look upset? I am from that era where I have heard a lot of people say a lot of things. But I have never said anything. In my school, I was taught, 'Mind your own business'."
Akshay further clarified, "It doesn't make a difference. What will I do? You can talk to theatre owners. You will keep asking me this same question four times to get an answer. The answer is I am not writing all this. "These people are writing it. I am not running anything. My point of view is very simple, whatever comes in front of the media as you react to it, I react to it. So, there is nothing new about it."
He also went on to explain that the production house, Fox Star Studios, involved with the film is a big corporate, which runs from LA, which makes films of millions and millions of dollars and for them to increase by three or five nothing will happen.
Besides, many industry experts have stated the box office numbers should not be shared on a public platform. Reacting to the same, Akshay said, "If a corporate won't put then anyone else will put it. It is like an open book, one can call theatres and you can calculate it. I don't think so we shouldn't put it, we should put it."
Meanwhile, the film has crossed the Rs 150 crore mark on the box office and is running successfully in theatres...
