After Alia Bhatt addresses 'Botox Gone Wrong' controversy, Doctor responds to her clarification

On October 25, 2024, Alia Bhatt addressed a video on her Instagram story that claimed she underwent a botox procedure that allegedly "went wrong." The actress, known for her role in Alpha, dismissed these rumors as “garbage,” stating that they are “damaging and exhausting” to her reputation.

Dr. Sai Ganapathy, a facial aesthetics expert, also weighed in on the matter. He shared his views in a video that has since been deleted. He noted that Alia sometimes exhibits a "dip in her movement" when she speaks, leading to a tilting of her lips, which he observed in the video along with others shared by fans. Speaking with Hindustan Times, he stated, “It’s her personal opinion; I wouldn’t like to comment on that. I’d rather talk medically.” He insisted that his remarks were not meant to target anyone.

The doctor further explained, “It can happen to anybody; even some of my patients can experience it. These complications can occur with aesthetic procedures, but there’s no need to worry as they are completely reversible.” After analyzing her videos, he concluded that a possible issue may have arisen during her botox treatment.

He clarified that this is a minor complication, not a serious concern, and mentioned that botox can sometimes move towards the risorius muscle during facial movements. This could cause the observed tilting of Alia’s lips, which he noted in various videos shared online.

When asked if public figures like Alia should face scrutiny over their appearance and alleged surgeries, he remarked that while it may not be fair, celebrities naturally draw public attention. He pointed out that when things go wrong with their procedures, it raises awareness, showing that mistakes are correctable. Dr. Ganapathy emphasized that this highlights the fact that even celebrities can face minor setbacks, just like anyone else.
