1. The rascals

We all have this one friend who has put us in trouble at least once our lifetime; sometimes unintentionally and most of the times not. But they are also one of the most loved characters too. Just like Salman Khan and Aamir Khan in Andaz Apna Apna. We all enjoy the hailas and oyemas till date, don't we?

2. One who has a jugaad for every problem

This one friend is the first person we run to when we are in any mess, because we know he would always have a crocked solution to all our problems. Bollywood reference? Don't you remember Arshad Warsi in Hulchul?  He always had a solution to Akshay Khanna's problems.

3. The perverts

Without a doubt these are the friends we have had laugh riots with. They can make anything sound vulgar, which I think is quite a talent in themselves. Just like Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani in Masti. Though they do end up in trouble but they do have their share of fun too.

4. Friends like family

The people, who stay away from their families, would agree with this type. We tend to spend so much time with our friends that they become just like another family of ours. Pyaar Ka Punchnama is a perfect example.

5. The bodyguard

This friend always keeps a vigilant watch on you. Who is stalking you, staring at you, or secretly in love with you? In Student of the Year you see Alia Bhatt's puny little friend playing this kind of friend. They do the job of a FBI agent quite well, trust me!

6. The protector

In Aashique 2, Aditya Roy Kapur's manager who is also his friend (Shaad Randhawa). He is that friend who is your protective shield. Dare anyone mess with you or even try to hurt you remotely; they would stand in the way through every thick and thin.

7. One who fights for your justice

This is when you know there nothing can go wrong. Just like Rang De Basanti, when all the friends come together to fight against the injustice done to their dear friend R. Madavan. This one is a personal favourite.

8. One who can't be replaced

In our entire lifetime we make many friends. But there are a few of them who can never be replaces just like the tri in Dil Chahta Hai. This movie surely defined friendship in a very novel way.

9. One who would forsake sake their life for you

When we say friendship how do we not mention the most iconic movie, Sholay. This movie set a benchmark for not only movies, but also friendship. The way Jai forsakes his life for Veeru bring tears to our eyes even today.

10. The one you fall in love with

This one has been Bollywood's favourite. We have seen umpteen numbers of movies were the hero/heroine falls in love with their best friends'. But one of the most iconic has been Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Shah Rukh Khan says, 'Pyaar Dosti Hai' and bam! Kajol falls in love with him.
