Casting couch exists, no one can deny that. Even insdustry big wigs agree to it. However i dont mean that every director and every producer do that

if ur talking abt getting the CHANCE in the first place... what are auditions for? Not everyone is in the casting couch league ..watever u call it... there are ppl in the industry who are faithful to themselves, to their families, to their fans and most imptly to their craft .... so its wrong to say everyone in the industry is like tht ...

you are speaking as if being talented and being so called 'immoral' are mutually exclusive... as if one cannot happen with the other...

how many ppl try out for the film industry.. not only in india but abroad too... lakhs!! ... do you think there are two clear cut categories i) sheer bundle of talent blessed directly by god ii) sleezy talentless sods who just want to make money...

errr.... no... the two categories are overlapping... if you have the talent and are not willing to do it their way, fine off you go.. ta-ta... they have thousands of young hopefuls who are talented and are willing too...

its just the nature of the industry... thats why alot of great talented theatre artisits avoid it... tele ppl avoid it.. thats why they say that you need to have connections like a powerful daddy bec they will shield you and get you the chances also...

btw, why is this discussion suddenly about casting couch and getting into the industry ???


most of the initial gossip was about established ppl have affairs with other established ppl... thats personal choice nothing to do with the casting couch

yeah and just because someone's good in a movie doesn't mean they are good in bed

i'm guessing a new comer will not straight away have access to a high profile director.. they would have to go through casting agents and other many many layers of ppl to finally get to the director to see your audition...

the director may be a gr8 guy.. but what about the set of ppl below him? - the ones you have to go thru to get to the director... i'm sure you will have to oblige them to get a CHANCE to audition

I understand wat ur saying... but why are u telling me all these? I never denied such things don't exist. Of course it does... n thts why i m not shocked at many of the stuff written...

MY POINT is not everyone is like that. . its wrong to say the whole of bollywood is sleazy n cheap. that's all. ALMOST EVERYONE frm bollywood (hrithik to srk preity rani ash to madhuri..) has been discussed to be "immoral" or an escort or sex addict.. on this thread .. there's a limit !

And anyway .. I was juz stating my thoughts abt what's the point of being talented etc.. when ultimately u don't get work on tht merit but on another basis ... not claiming anything to be true or mutually exclusive or independant events ...😕

The industry IS sleazy and cheap but not all the stars are i.e Gracy Singh, Oberois etc

I think it is... pls note: "think" ... and those who are not, don't get too far.. at least not in today's industry.... my source is a friend of mine who worked as an AD for a year.. she left after being completely disillusioned... she horror stories she told me! .. how cheaply the women are treated.. even established ones...
