Sabke bas ki nahi yeh dikhana
Even in the " first" MB ,characters were thoroughly misrepresented to add controversy.None of these incidents were present in the original critical edition.
Few examples-
They totally messed up Karna's character. He was not even Maharathi. And has been defeated many times by Bheem and Satyaki etc. He was a totally evil character whose only positive trait was charity. His last " charity" with Indra was totally transactional.
Infact he was the one who used to cry foul everytime. He was extremely jealous and competetive towards Arjuna who only wanted to practise .Arjun was always in his own zone / world but Karna was always competitive.Drona could see the resentment Karna has towards Arjuna and hence refuses to give him the deeksha of Bhrmaastra.Otherwise he always taught him unlike what is shown in series where he was rejected because of his low birth.
False narrative. After Drona says no,Karna calls him so many dirty names nd say that I will kill u etc.
2.He was the one who egged Duryodhana to kidnap a tribal woman.Later when her family captures Duryodhana,he was the first one to run away.It was shown quite fleetingly in first MB.Then Arjun a dn Beema saves Duryodahana. There were many times when he runs away from the battlefield.
3.He never was able to string the bow during the Draupadi swayamvar. He missed it by hair's breadth unlike what is shown that Draupadi rejects him because of his low birth.
4.Draupadi never called Duryodhana Andhe ka putr Andha.Infact she was not even there. In the late 1950s, there was a Hindi literaute, writer, author, poet, playwright Dharmaveer Bharati. He, later on, became the chief editor of the popular Hindi weekly magazine called Dharmayug, a Times of India publication. He wrote a satirical play called Andha Yug, a play based on the falling standards of Indian polity and used the Mahabharata as the backdrop. In this play, there is a blind king. The opposing queen makes the statement on the king's son, βΰ€
ΰ€ΰ€§ΰ₯ ΰ€ΰ€Ύ ΰ€ͺΰ₯ΰ€€ΰ₯ΰ€° ΰ€ΰ₯ ΰ€
ΰ€ΰ€§ΰ€Ύ ΰ€Ήΰ₯ΰ₯€β or βa blind man's son is also blindβ.
This became very popular. It was picked up by the movie Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron in their climax scene based on the Mahabharata scene of Draupadi's disrobing. This movie was very popular and had a cult following. B R Chopra also repeated this depiction in his own Mahabharata serial. That is where it all started. It had been reposted on many internet blogs.Karn called this woman a prostitute because of his jealousy.
Of course the casting and acting and dialogues were excellent but they destroyed the plot line
In certain adaptations and creativity,it was shown that Draupadi had a secret crush on Karna..π€¦π€¦
