Looking at buzz KMTMG pre-launch teasers & promos as Sriti's come back show created and initial openings of KMTMG, guess Z channel had so much hope from this serial that this would soon overtake Bhagya's in outreach, popularity, ad revenues, paid subscriber viewership and also in Barc weekly TRPs. But alas it didn't happen till now, but rather KMTMG gets tailed with KDB episodes to overlap allocated time slot, may be to gain some of Bhagya's years old dedicated viewership?
See Sriti & Arjit have been active on SM and also have tons of followers on SM for several years, even before they signed and acted together in KMTMG as main leads, ok. Their off-screen friendship as buddies was also well known along with some of their famous reels/posts, which have wide views.
Mukta, her writers & creatives have to be spending few lakhs for creating one daily episode of a TV serial KMTMG, but seem to end up more in lets highlight/promote some bts reels/posts of Sriti & Arjit on SM, to mainly satisfy their SM followers WITHOUT focus on improvising serial characters, script, content, editing etc. or in brainstorming what & how to effectively promote more and attract NEW Zeetv viewers towards watching their serial regularly on TV, which ever time slot it airs. Now big Q is do they really need to invest so much time, money, efforts, energy, brains, cast in churning out a daily TV serial, when always trying to play to this SM galleries??
Quoting here an example of recent poll done on Twitter/X, which indicates most active SM followers/fans of KMTMG who voted, hardly watch this serial's episodes/clips on Zeetv.
Have no idea why they start the eps late - was so in the first weeks and for a few months now. Doesn't sound like they have much confidence in the show - which is appropriate now, but was a bad move in the initial weeks.
yeah... Sriti's comeback did give them the big trp on the opening day. But then 1.1 in the second week sounds just about right for the kind of writing they can manage. Had Sriti not been cast, best guess is it would've been off air by now, like most shows that came up later.
Even her role doesn't call for anything special from Sriti. Most of the scenes written are just playable by perhaps any other actor - there have hardly been a handful of scenes where the script matched her level of skills, and arguably one of them happened because she wanted a change. Some scenes which are perhaps actually good get overshadowed by what happened beforehand.
The sample size for the poll is quite small ... but is reflective of fans on X and here too - most watch the show not on TV... not surprising at all.
The channel does need to focus on the content their makers dish out - may be Mukta said something like 'people go to watch SRK movies, Sriti does similar to the TV audience' ... having srk doesn't mean the movie/story is actually good and it is a one time transaction... Sriti may bring people in to watch, but unless your content is good enough, most will just leave. [Have been times in the past weeks where I think 'what the ____ am I even discussing here? Aur kuch kaam dhandha nahi hai kya?']
PS: @Annu. is an ex-trp viewer. There have been times where she has toned down her criticisms about the show - and yet is one of the harshest critics here. Perhaps shows how important sensible stories and plots actually are. You just don't make certain moves like how the writers did and expect it to work.
But when they have SRK, they see to it that story/screenplay/direction/overall aspects meet his standard but here looks like Sriti's/role/standard has been brought low to be in par with the writer's creativity/direction
True. And may be we can also assume that srk would have a good idea about the script and read through most of it if it is ready. In the initial days of the show, I could get why Sriti signed up for this - the character is interesting and arguably the general character graph... but then bringing that idea on to paper and effectively what plays out on screen has always felt lackluster in the beginning (and pathetic in various bits). May be she should've considered this factor before signing up.
btw as quite expected Rabb or RSHD is next in line to shut shop by Z as per some news. See gen leap barely worked even if PH team got in popular stars like DD.When there is NO convincing Muslim story backdrop for running next gen love story of two sisters fighting for same cousin, nor relatable modern outlook characters who are supposed to be in early twenties, TV viewers can't be attracted irrespective of time slot and popular stars, this is lesson those responsible from production & channel have to learn.
OG Rabb itself wasn't doing well, rather than shutting down Prateek seem to have convinced channel and went for abrupt next gen leap in this Feb, even agreeing for late 10.30pm time slot. (which in recent times is 10.45pm)
Channel can't pull off all low hanging LSD shows at one go, so seem to be doing one after another. First SS, then RM after 2-3 weeks, later RSHD. This 7pm slot shift might also be testing waters for Rabb before Z finally closing it.
18th: Of course Virat didn't see the message. Babs gets pissed off when he mentions the food smells like made by Ammu. She walks off...
Looks like ex took over Babs' 'middle class' taunts... well... not like it is the 'rich people' who serve at parties.
Dining table convo was better in comparison... More Ammu name dropped often... frustrating Babs even more, who was brought in by Viru...
Party scenes... are skip worthy... funny how ex can take over the party... of course she walks away and hides her necklaces in one of the bags.
Oh... comparison b/w Ammu and Ex game b/w the Ahujas (minus Virat and Babs)...writing each points about both... [Oh... God... I find this insulting.] In talking about things, Anjali mentions Ex may have gone to the party too... Virat ki dimaag ki batti jali...
Necklace missing and checking... finally finds it in Jahan's bag.
[yaaaaawwwn.] beautiful... Give the Emmys to the writers already... No one can match them.
btw... Thought 'AaichiKadhai's job is to cook and deliver food... catering ka bhi chalu kiya kya? Would expect them to deliver the food and leave... not 'serve' the guests. Think the writers dont know the difference b/w home delivery and catering services. Also funny when ex acts like the 'host' - the whoever it was 'serial actor' who was the host never showed up... or even if she did, only played the role of an extra 'in her own home'.
Wow!!!!! Beautiful precap!!!!
Not only does ex tell Ammu to dance, else Jahan will go to jail.... she also throws money on her....
you writers. you.
[And yes... women empowerment. ]
PS: Its the precap for 19th Aug. So stepping into the new time slot on a high note. And of course it is only "my opinion" that it is bad... and writing things is "not cool". #iykyk

Like husband, like wifeโฆ a match made in heaven.
Virat, Marry me, or your mom will go to jail.
Now his beloved wife (X), Dance, or your aunt will go to jail.
Really, a very interesting episode for the new time slot openingโฆ slow clap for Mukta.
More screen presence for her favorite starโฆ no worries, Zee will axe this show soon with this bs...can't find a puking emoji...
