This is a very unpopular opinion... forgive me.
The Mela episodes were wrong & cant be justified. Virat miss obvious evidence Amu didn't do all those actions. I dont justify but understand POV virat was heavily manipulated Mela night. ITS STILL WRONG.
When it comes to date night like @nilmi. Something broke for me. Sorry to be obsessive but that staircase scene with Priyanka & date was complete betrayal of writers & virat character growth. Virat basically said Amu opinion, everything she did for him & his family & affection he expressed since cough syrup night MEANT NOTHING. I Understand Virat is like this but hoped to see his growth prevail. ITS TOO LATE to act mature today after the manner Virat told Amu to leave on date night.
Posters can respond to me virat sorted those issues out in this letter. MY POINT IS HE WENT BACK ON CHARACTER GROWTH ACTING LIKE OLD VIRAT DATE NIGHT- HE WILL DO IT AGAIN! Only positive on date night is he split from Amu this time thinking about her protection & not only himself.
That's certainly not an unpopular opinion - at least here in IF.
'Too late' is what I felt too while watching todays scene... and also the reason i mentioned the past 2 eps seems to be written for Ammu to slip into love for him.
Yup... he will do it again - and that was the main reason why they shouldn't have done the mela thing. I dont know how Ammu can trust him even a bit. The character and VA relationship died there for me.
"Only positive on date night is he split from Amu this time thinking about her protection & not only himself."
The 'not only himself' part... hmm.. arguably right. But the conclusion he came to was he doesn't want to feel guilty that he is unable to protect her. So how much of it is about 'her safety' and how much is about himself is debatable.
[I do think they should've shown him thinking even in the staircase, after that convo with ex. Think that would've set things right for the date scene. The same scene should've been reversed - first convo with ex, then him thinking, if nothing else 'what if Ammu for once is unable to protect herself / win?' ]
Add to it, today he mentioned I asked you not to sign it until we figure out the I and U thing... Then why give it? (the first time)... that was so very odd. Reveals the writers intent... and (think I can safely say) she messed it up. But... what happened in the past couple of eps, does reveal more and more that he is self-centered. [Need to think on this part a bit more.]
