Kalki 2898 AD Records Very Good Extended First Week

Kalki 2898 AD (Hindi) collected a very good 156.75 crore nett over its extended first week though there were drops in mass pockets post Monday. The film was pretty steady on the last day of the week as compared to the other days. The initial weekend collections in mass circuits have done the trick for the film as the drops after matter less because collections still look good.
The comparisons for the film are RRR which did a 132 crore nett in seven days and 2.0 which collected 135 crore nett in a similar eight day extended week. The film is unlikely to do the business of RRR as mass appreciation is less but will comfortably cross the numbers of 2.0 as despite the weekday drops the trend is still stronger than 2.0.
There is not much competition for Kalki 2898 AD this week with the postponement of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha though this film should now be called Auron Mein Dum Tha with Kalki 2998 AD being the Auron. Jokes aside Kalki 2898 AD should be emerge a SUPER HIT film and the biggest HIT of 2024 till date and it is second weekend which should confirm this. The film has also seen drops in the South but has still raked up huge numbers over the eight days with collections in the 400 crore nett range. The collections of the film till date are as follows.

The thing is even those 10 people will eventually end up watching his movies. For ex, I myself had zero interest and completely ignored it but ended up watching FDFS because of a friend. Long story short now I have watched the movie 3 times already…Go figure!. 😆

Yes I do have my doubts on his ability to draw crowds as an actor. Doing larger than life roles with grand gestures and pulling crowds on those are not the same as doing a normal character thing and pulling similar crowd.
