Quoting Sharaban:

"Srk's true potential shines in experimental roles (kabhi haan kabhi naa, Swades etc), aggressive (CDI, Raees), dark (baazigar, darr, anjaam) or action oriented roles (Don, Jawan, patthan etc)."

Did I ever read such a (true) compliment from someone who almost always equals SRK with "hamming"?

Very nice surprise smiley27

In romantic roles he feels like way too syrupy and try hard types. He has wasted alot of his acting potential for years appearing in similar sort of romantic films, which were though hits, but didn't raised the bar for him as a performer.

Well, I like this Syrupy romance. smiley42

Please no Kajol any more, Juhi, Madhuri, Tabu, Kareena,

Its exhausting for me, way too overly sentimental with huge chunks of over acting & hamming...

I am glad few people do not shy away from speaking the truth.

Srk can be v good in roles that suits his strengths (intensity, aggression, grit) but equally bad or even horrible in others.

Just watch this one minute clip from kal ho naa ho, and even as a fan (if not a obsessive stan) anyone will agree this is nothing but sheer over acting and outright hamming.

It's desperation combined with anger about a destiny he can't change.

What do I care how other people find his acting...In such a situation, there is no acting, there is feeling.

Fortunately, there are still enough people who enjoy the different kinds of acting SRK masters.

There are wonderful scenes in Dilwale and JHMS...I see them, a lot of others see them...and again others don't...so what?

Afterthought: It is easy to label people who can feel this reaction - and many more shown by SRK - as "stans" (or whatever)...but probably it's simply a question of empathy.
