Bhai
Sita is from Mithila and Ram is from Eastern UP.
No one ethereal or otherwise actor *cough* Ranbir and Tripti *cough* in Bollywood or Southern industries is source accurate par yeah keep on justifying a kidnapping joke by drawing strawmen.

Looks are an an important part of casting. You can't have someone who looks like a vamp play the part of Sita ji. And you can't have plain Jane play the role either. So chill, and spare the sermon and the silly kidnapping analogy.
But have you really thought the ''actual reason'' why its impossible to cast any beautiful heroine opposite Ranbir...? Think about it...It will be interesting...

I clearly have no sense of humour to see the "joke" in a goddess who was kidnapped by Ravan would be returned if she doesn't look good.
Like the mental gymnastics to defend something so disgusting by otherwise ultra-sensitive people are truly the eighth wonder of the world.
Many forget that Raavan was interested in Sita because she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. This Sai Pallam or whatever her name is doesn’t look like one .

You clearly need to update yourself with the actual story of Ramayana . Ravana kidnaps Sita to take revenge on Rama for chopping off his sister Soorpanakha’s nose. It’s so embarrassing to see that people here are commenting without even knowing about what they were commenting.🤦♀️
Ravan did start off wamting to take revenge... but he was later besotten with Sita ji's beauty. Embarrassing that you skipped that part.

Brace yourself up for more such sacrilege, using the Ramayana and real life interchangeably backed up by some mind boggling justifications. Fun times ahead!😅

Yeah make a joke using characters' names and then deflect that you are talking about actors as if joking about an actor being too ugly to attract perps of heinous crimes is acceptable because no one's religious sentiment are hurt? Like wtf?
She is a human being and doesn't deserve to be dehumanised irrespective of religion.
And then do mental gymnastics about casting as if the only " ethereal" women are eurocentric north Indian women? As if the scripture doesn't hold Ram Sita to be teens/YA when exiled? As if any human being is 'ethereal' enough to play a supposed goddess— daughter of earth and someone who gave up her life in defence of her dignity in a patriarchal society.
Ek verse padha nahi hai par puri personality based hai issi epic par.
Err Deepika, Aishwarya are South Indians....Sai i believe isn't considered a beauty by south audience...Every one loves her for her talent....

One can see how it would boggle the mind... if you can't make a distimction between reel and real.
An important part of storybtelling is casting characters who look the part. That can't be so hard to comprehend, should it?

Oh boy. The amount of ignorance is mind boggling. Ravana kidnaps Sita to take revenge on Rama for hurting his sister Soorpanakha. Looks like you have clearly no clue about the actual story of Ramayana. 🤦♀️
