The sun is just coming out. India, as expected, have picked three spinners. That means only two changes: Jasprit Bumrah comes back for Akash Deep, and Devdutt Padikall debuts in place of Rajat Patidar, who injured himself during training last evening.

So Patidar hasn't been dropped.

Ashwin plays his 100th test match. Cap was presented to him with his family beside him.

Pitch report: "Pitch looks like an absolute belter. The outfield is excellent and it is a smallish ground as well. Should be a good contest between bat and ball," reckon Nick Knight and Sanjay Manjrekar.

Update from BCCI: Rajat Patidar got hit on his left ankle during Team India's practice session on 6th March, 2024. He pulled up sore on the morning of the game and was not available for selection for the 5th Test.
