"I just love test cricket," gurgles Simeon, contentedly. "Long may it continue."
Another gripping session of Test cricket. Chasing 231, the Indian openers were quite watchful unlike the first innings. Rohit was dropped on 5 but he batted more positive than Jaiswal.
Hartley, who was taken to the cleaners in his opening spell in the first dig, bowled beautifully. He bowled in the right spots to nip out India's top three.Rohit, like Pope, tried playing the reverse-sweep and collected a couple of boundaries but he was done in by the debutant's non-turner. Axar, promoted to No. 5, along with Rahul batted calmly after the skipper's downfall to ensure that there were no further setbacks.Leach bowled with a strapped left leg but it was Hartley who was England's best bowler in this session.Four sessions left in the Test, India need 136 runs | England need 7 wickets. Another crucial session coming your way in 20 minutes...
We're back for the final session of play - India need 136 more runs, England need 7 more wickets.
Belper John: "The difference in the teams is starting to look like Bumrah. Mark Wood gives it everything, but he doesn't seem capable of moving the ball to create enough chances. He has no chance of getting a wicket (do you see what I did there?)." --- Ha! Let's see if it works out
Axar Patel OUT
C and b Hartley.
