Day 3: Lunch Break - England trail by 101 runs
ENG2nd inn 89−1

Nisarg Dave: "This batting approach form Englishmen is giving me strong 2012 series vibes!India thought it would be a walk in park against England at that time and England didn't buckle and eventually won the series. "
Duncan Ward : "Is that the first session of this match you'd comprehensively say England has won?! The very first one was a bit 50/50 and since then it's been all India." Unequivocally. This match is probably still beyond them simply because of the gulf in bowling class, but it's a sign that all hope is not lost for the series just yet.
First bit of 'Bazball' in this series and India's spinners seemed to have lost their lengths. The openers came out sweeping and reverse sweeping and it threw the spinners off their lengths. Ashwin was taken for plenty, so was Axar and RJ bowled just one over before the break. Duckett and Crawley were aggressive with the latter in particular off the blocks in style - he finally succumbed to Ashwin, but then Duckett took the attack, employing the horizontal shots to good effect. That rubbed off on Pope too, with the right-hander looking far better in this dig. England now trail by 101 runs with 9 wickets in hand. India will reflect on their bowling during the break and will look to possibly change their plans. For England, they'll look to be positive. Should be another absorbing session coming up at 12:10 pm
