No one can beat Jyothika as chandramukhi.. Even vidyabalan looked pale in front of Jyotika and i mean it.

Thank you Aishwarya for rejecting the role.

That looks very OTT now after vidyas performance
Vidya's performance and the hindi song always looked thanda infront of Tamil one for me. This Tamil one came before Hindi one. Original one was Malayalam one though. Tamil audio is fantastic, the vocals and music is powerful and haunting. Jyotika did an amazing job as a posessed woman, if possible watch an immediate scene that comes after this song, her performance was goosebumps inducing in that scene.

I like Soundarya more than Jyotika in general as an actress but I must say even Soundarya's performance looked pale in front of that of Jyothika's in this song. Jyothika had an amazing screen presence in the song, that body language of a possessed woman and her expressions especially the way she expresses through her eyes through out the movie was something else in Tamil's chandramukhi and omg that Tamil audio has always been goose bumps inducing compared to the counterparts in any other languages
She was also the first choice for Mother India.
Vidya was not a ghost or possessed woman in the movie. Actually, she has a mental disorder.
Before BB, SLB wanted to do remake of Chandramukhi. He wanted SRK (Akshay), Rani (Vidya), and Priyanka Chopra (Amisha).

I was about post this
To me Soundarya version is better
Did you watched Kannada one first?
I watched Tamil one first, I loved it
Which one do you like between Soundarya's and Vidyabalan's versions?
In Tamil one, Jyothika had a mental disorder, apart from that, Chandramukhi possessed her body taking advantage of her mental disorder, thats the story i remember from the Tamil movie.
