India vs South Africa Live Score, 3rd ODI

This series have been all about young players trying to make a mark. In the first game, Arshdeep Singh opened his account in ODI cricket with a five-wicket haul. In the second, South Africa opener Tony de Zorzi smashed an unbeaten 119 off 122 to lead South Africa to victory. While the next ODI World Cup may not really be at the forefront of most minds, there is a T20 World Cup coming up next year and a Champions Trophy after that. All of these games would be seen as auditions for those two tournaments, even if one of them belong in a different format.

While the second ODI flew under the radar a bit due to the IPL auction, it won't be the case this time and with the series on the line, the eyeballs on this match will be much higher. Chances of India changing their squad remains low, as is usually the case. While they gave Rinku Singh an ODI debut in the second match, they could be tempted to give Rajat Patidar a go in the third.

It's the series decider in Paarl, where a beautiful afternoon welcomes both South Africa and India. It's been a well-fought battle, this series, and we're all hoping for an entertaining conclusion to the ODIs.

India bossed the opening ODI but were given a rude reality check by a superb Tony de Zorzi century in the second game as South Africa brought the fight back to the visitors. So here we are, on a sunny, pristinely clear morning at Paarl, as India and South Africa gear up for the series decider. The hosts are witnessing a transition with Qdk stepping away, Temba Bavuma β€˜rested’ and a few of their regular pacers missing in action. However, it has worked in their favor as Reeza Hendricks, de Zorzi, Nandre Burger have all made merry in this series.

Win toss, bat first? The last three scores here in the first innings have been 287, 296 and 291! Also to be seen are if Rajat Patidar gets a game, and who between Shamsi and Lizaad Williams for SA.

This has been a good time to be a fringe Indian player because caps are being distributed like Christmas candy with the regulars taking a bit of an extended break to prepare for the Test series. The likes of Sai Sudharsan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Mukesh Kumar, Arshdeep Singh have all impressed as KL Rahul got a hand at captaincy once again. A few of the traveling troop in Akash Deep, Yuzi Chahal, Rajat Patidar have yet not got a game, but could be given their opportunity in this decider. We’re not too far from the toss, so stick around for further updates…

Rajat Patidar will make his ODI debut. A total of 1963 runs in 56 List-A games. Where will he bat? Does he come in for Ruturaj Gaikwad, who didn't field in the second ODI due to a finger injury?
