There will be many members who will agree as well as disagree.
Way back in 2008 my family shifted their loyalties from Sab to SP and finally got hooked to Rangu Bhai.
For us Yrkkh was too slow, I liked Hina's as Akshara Maheshwari she brought certain composure in the show in comparison to her peers. USP of first season was in its execution till AK testified against Naira.
Plus Rajan Shahi had a stellar supporting cast. I even liked the dog which duggu baby brought home.
In 2016 I saw Begasurai where Shivangi played the role of a widow. Typical dangal type show.
When SJ joined Yrkkh found her quite loud,
Mohsin didn't have much to do initially. Hina remained in the show to settle Kaira.
What worked in their favour ? both these relatively new artists improvised as a team. They went on adding value to their roles. Of course they were backed with a verry good family drama, had to face kundali in terms of competition
After all the pros and cons Shivin/Kaira managed to deliver.
I refuse to believe that Shivangi is overrated
Naira had her own identity
and in comparison to Nisha aur uske cousins Mohsin really evolved as Kartik
S1 and S2 were commercial hits
Coming to S3 I often wondered why RS hired a cast which did not fit Rishta criteria.
Birlas looked sophisticated expect for Manjiri the other senior members especially Mahima and Anand Birla weren't skilled dancers, S1 and 2 had professionals in their team. The others from Birla clan for ex Paras and Anisha hardly made any efforts. Most of them were cardboard cut outs.
Only one character made an impact that is Harshavardhan Birla
As far as leads are concerned I mentioned in my earlier posts their work stands supreme when they were associated with their previous employers.
Too much of changes in the script, whitewashing negative characters not giving leads sufficient character development to connect with ground audiences. Working against core principles or theme caused a downfall.
