I completely agree with the poster who stated that SOCIAL MEDIA and PUBLIC EXPOSURE is NOT the reason for these girls not becoming Super Star:

Reason being:

* Even before this social media exposure, in Sridevi and Madhuri's time as well, STARS AND THEIR PERSONAL LIVES WERE VERY MUCH EXPOSED to the general public. ALSO THERE WERE SO MANY PLATFORMS WHERE THEY PERSONALLY INTERACTED WITH THE FANS.

* VERY UNLIKE today's times, the monthly video cassette LEHREN used to be released regularly loaded with the behind the secenes, stars upclose interviews about them and shootings of almost every upcoming film each month, inside scoops of all the recent films and happenings. Public have seen all of the behind the scenes of all upcoming films and were well aware about the LABOUR and REALITY behind celluloid/silver screen...there were no illusions unlike 60s and 70s era about films being from another planet and actors as some alien creatures.

* Popular magazines and tabloids always had VERY CANDID scoops and interviews about all of the inside gossips very unlike today's diplomatic times...actors and actresses never used to hide their real image..karishma raveena manisha, pooja's and others actresses' regular nasty cat fights were a norm in those magazines on a regular base...heck they even made Sri and Madhuri rivals who never fought together ever in reality, practically. There was no fake image buildup of some Goddess made out of those ladies in 90's.

* Yes we never had that twitter but popular platforms & magazines like stardust, cineblitz, Movie etc regularly used to conduct DIRECT PHONE CALLS of super stars with general public where stars used to talk with regular people through landline phone in those magazines' offices, and the questions & answers of those LIVE CALLS used to publish in those magazines on a regular base each month.

There was very less PR and image buildup companies, so stars , their lives and interactions were VERY CANDID even unlike today's times.

So yeah, its not about THAT MYSTERY and aura as stars were not MYSTERIOUS (even more open and out) in Sridevi and Madhuri's times and a twitter or a social media is not the reason why we cannot have any female superstar after Madhuri.

Come to think of it, this social media WAS NOT there EVEN in Aishwarya, Rani, Preity, Priyanka, raveena, manisha, karishma, kajol and others' times , even than no one out of these became a female SUPERstar despite giving big hits and humongous popularity and fan bases for each of them. All of them were very big female stars but none of them became a true blue female SUPERstar unlike Madz and Sri.

Sridevi and Madhuri were altogether on a different and very high level.

Both of them have achieved that supreme stardom that is impossible to recreate now. Closest to them we can say for Deepika, Katrina and, to some extent, Kareena. It was for a short span of time only. I don't see that craze being repeated again in the near future.

The problem with Alia is that she lacks the glamour quotient or the oomph factor. She is good at what she does but I don’t see people going gaga over her or going to theatres just to watch her,at least not in my circle. Deepika did shitty a** films in the beginning of her career but after a while she clicked with the audience. She is an average actress but she looks hot onscreen so there is that 😆 Madhuri type heroines toh beautiful bhi thi kafi and acting bhi kamaal karti thi

Yup. Now people have become smarter and won’t spend their hard earned money on mediocre content. Times are changing.

Forget that, is there going to another superstar after Hrithik? All the male actors are getting paid zillions and delivering dud after dud.
