Is Ajay Devgn slightly overrated as an Actor?

I agree he's the best when it comes to intense role, and his real life personality exactly the same, serious, unsociable and always with a depressed look hence why serious intense character comes naturally to him, but his fans call him him best actor and most versatile when he is limited as an actor. He's brilliant in action hero type roles and intense love story but I don't rate him in comedy, he's funny sometimes but not out an out comedy, his acting was not great in SOS or bol bachchan where abhishek was better or romantic hero role Where he can appear boring. In Suhaag he was good in serious part but in comic part akshay was a lot better. He's good but limited.

Wouldn't rate him anything over average.  Woh boring dead eyes hi acting nai hote hai. Ajay being where n today is a agenda star just like khiladi.

He's fine as a brooding, mopy, oppressed character but beyond that he's extremely limited. I personally find him fairly overrated as an actor. Might also have to do with his repulsive personality off screen. 

His intense look got him movies like zakhm, LOBS, Company and action movies where he could bring out emotion and anger but besides that its funny that people rate him in comedy, he has had major success in comic genre but it's the other side actors who made it funny

He was lucky his father was a part of the industry or else we would have never seen him in bollywood.

If Ajay is overrated, every Bollywood actor is overrated. 

Might be. Still better than almost all mainstream stars currently.  

I think he's highly underrated.

Most his comedy films its the side actors who bring the laughs, although he plays the gang leader but arshad wasi made it funny.
