P.S. Many including I believe, Sush, Aish, Lara, Priyanka etc owe their good fortune atleast the 'Miss World&Universe' titles to liberalization of Indian economy

Because the sudden flurries of these titles to Indian girls coincided with the liberalization of Indian economy and opening of Indian market in 1991 by Manmohan Singh... Before that it happened only once, Rita Faria won Miss world in 1966😊

So Indians started winning more and more International pageants bcz Indian economy was now open, they wanted to attract Indian consumers. And after that was accomplished, Indian girls at least temporarily have stopped winning those titles...

No! PC Lara Aish Sush Diya were better contenders than the ones Miss India selects now. I have had a relative very involved in pageants. So I cannot somewhat judge.

Lara at times looks like Monica Belluci, very very beautiful. At times very plain. Her head is large. So she had the same issue as me. She doesn't have a defined face cut. I remember in dosti I at times felt even Kareena was prettier. Prefer Lara's height though.

I didn't find her that talented besides her comic time. She got good reviews for Andaaz but her voice was dubbed. I personally enjoyed watching Priyanka more. Her character was more fun.

Career wise saying no to 'Matrix' was her big mistake😛

+1 She would have been way ahead of PC than in terms of Hollywood. It would have suited her accent and looks more. Many critics claimed she was very western looking.

LOL, nostalgia puts us in such a trance. Lara was an average actress, who barely made impact in her films. To say she is better than PC is a reach.

She was not as talented as Priyanka. But I do feel she could had good career but she did not have any industry backing or connections.

Bold - That's as may be but atleast she would've had 'Matrix' on her resume
