Rasmeduniya episode 29:
Lessons to be learned:
1. Alls well that ends well.
2. Ask forgiveness before it's too late and forgive others: Tabriz has forgiven Musarrat too, and she wants to desperately make everything right. Musarrat' dialogues to Tabriz "if only you had asked for forgiveness earlier, all this would not have happened" and "why is it so hard to say I'm sorry, why does our ego not allow us to say it;" and now we know that all Musarrat wanted was a simple "I'm sorry" from Tabriz.
3. Seek help when you need it, depression is a treatable medical illness, which can lead to a catastrophe if remains intreated: I have loved sameena peerzada in this drama; her portrayal of the multi faceted Musarrat has been brilliant and this is one of her career best performances without a doubt. Now I understand, she was taking out her frustration on poor Harib. She was wronged, did not have anyone to talk to, to understand her, to make her feel better; she was is despair to the point of being depressed. She did not know what to do, poor Harib became the victim of her frustrations; im not saying she is not guilty of her crimes towards Harib; because child abuse can never be justified no matter what the situation is. A good lesson can be derived here for all parents out there; if you are disheartened or depressed about work, family problems, financial problems, seek help before it's too late, and you start taking it out on your significant other and children, because they seem like the easiest victim, always available to take out your frustrations. See a psychiatrist who can help you before it's too late! If only Musarrat had realized her depression/ anxiety, seen a doctor, taken appropriate medications, had counseling, Harib would not have suffered at her hands and certainly would not have turned out the person he eventually became.
4. Domestic Violence: please do not blame the girl when she is too scared to reach out to anyone for help. It's not easy, it takes time, sometimes decades to eventually get out of an abusive relationship. She is the victim; not someone to be blamed for not speaking up!
5. Harib's personality disorder: I wish they had elaborated more on it, the etiology, treatment process, maybe put light on how family members can deal with it. There's nothing wrong in seeking help! They did not give sound reasoning as to how and why he changed so much; except for reading his mother's diary, which I'm not buying. At least, some form of therapy should've been showed to make it more believable.
Nonetheless, Harib is very special to me. Sami khan, I think this is one of your best performances! I cannot even imagine anyone else playing Harib and bringing out the aggression yet vulnerability to his character. My heart breaks for Harib; I was crying for him when he was talking to Haya, and during his conversation with his mother, he deserves so much more in life, to be happy, to love and be loved!
There's more to discuss, but I will leave it for next week. This drama has kept me entertained from episode 1 and credit goes to the entire team!
