#17YearsOfBaadshah: 5 reasons why we still love this SRK-Twinkle movie!

Shah Rukh Khan and Twinkle Khanna's Baadshah has completed 17 years today and like all, we too cannot stop raving about the movie. Even now, when the movie airs on television, we end up rewatching it in entirety and not think of switching the channel even once.
On the film's 17th anniversary, we decided to list down 5 reasons as to why we love Baadshah! Do tell us which is your favourite -
1. Shah Rukh Khan: The title of the movie aptly suits SRK given that he is known as the Baadshah of Bollywood. Be it his comic timing, his romance or his dance moves, SRK is absolutely amazing in the movie as the naughty detective.
2. Supporting Cast: The film, boasted of an amazing supporting cast that included stars like Amrish Puri, Johnny Lever, Rakhee and Sachin Khedekar among many others. While Johnny added the element of humour to the movie, Amrish Puri's villainous role made it an interesting watch!
3. Humour: When you have Johnny Lever in the movie along with SRK, you are bound to love the humour element in the film. Their camaraderie and bromance made us laugh our hearts out.
4. Songs: The music album of Baadshah has been a hit for close to two decades now. The songs from the movie like - Hum Toh Deewane Hue Yaar, Mohabbat Ho Gayi Hai, Baadshah O Baadshah, Main Toh Hun Pagal or Wo Ladki Jo Sabse Alag Hai are on loop for many music lovers till date!
5. SRK-Twinkle's chemistry - The actors shared a beautiful and sweet chemistry in the movie. We love the scene where the two are hiding from the goons behind a truck and SRK gives Twinkle a peck on her cheeks! Sweet, hai na?

1/5Baadshah: Interesting facts about the film

Shah Rukh Khan impressed one and all with his comically investigative skills in Baadshah. The film hit the screens on August 27, 1999 and managed to make a decent number at the box office. Apparently this movie was a inspired from Hollywood film 'Nick of Time'. Baadshah starred Twinkle Khanna opposite SRK in this film, which was released in 23 screens. It has been 17 years since the film released, we bring to you some of the most interesting facts about the movie...
2/5Baadshah: Interesting facts about the film

While Twinkle Khanna never made it big in Bollywood, Baadshah is remembered as one of her best performances. SRK and Twinkle made for a cute onscreen couple. Apparently there was tricky incident which happened during the shooting of this movie. According to IMDB, while shooting for the romantic number Hum to Deewane Huye, Twinkle Khanna was dancing in the rain in a sari, she tripped in it and fell down. The actress was drenched in mud while shooting for the number.

Apart from Twinkle Khanna as the leading lady, Deepshika played a vital female role in the movie. Her character had a negative shade, who was working for the ultimate villain, Amrish Puri. According to IMDB the original choice for Deepshikha's role in the movie was Sushmita Sen. However for reasons best known to the makers of Baadshah the beauty queen never made it to the cast of the film. Deepshikha too played the character very well.
4/5Baadshah: Interesting facts about the film

The climax of Baadshah has Shah Rukh Khan pulling some very interesting stunts. He has to kill a politician in order to save the life of a small girl. Apparently this end was similar to that of a Hollywood flick. The climax sequence of Baadshah was inspired from Johnny Depp starrer Hollywood movie Nick of Time which released in 1995. Shah Rukh Khan very expertly executed this end, with the help of his friends and some quirky tools.

Twinkle Khanna did justice to her role of Seema Malhotra. However the makers had not initially planned to have her in the leading role. Apparently the character of Seema was first offered to Karisma Kapoor. Shah Rukh Khan and Karisma Kapoor proved their amazing chemistry in Dil Toh Pagal Hai which released in 1997. And the makers may have thought of repeating the same with Baadshah. However Karisma refused the role, which is when Twinkle stepped in.
