I can actually relate to most of Umera's characters, but with Falak I found it difficult, either because of the way it was directed or her acting. 😆 She was great in Humsafar though, but then again I think Humsafars role was easier too as all she had to do was cry most of the time. 😆

Yeah, alright, you guys. Guess I did really start a World War, then.

Okay, sticking by what I said, and what a couple of you said, too, is the fact that if Mahira Khan was "undeserving" and she won, that's actually pointing out the flaws of the awarding system, right? And here's the thing, fans of HS do love Fawad and Mahira, both individually and separately, and yeah, alright, they're going to be voting for them or whatever, but how's that stopping other fans from voting from their favorites? We're not talking overrated, we're talking who's more popular now, aren't we?

I guess I understand where you lot are coming from, the whole 'there-were-more-deserving-people' thing, and yeah, I agree. What made Maat great for me was Saba's acting, hands down. But I generally do believe that overall, SZ was promoted pretty well, and the characters, their thoughts and ideologies, were all presented well. Umera's dialogues, too, were hard-hitting and spectacular in certain places. But most of all, it was the underlying theme of the story - the search for God through the eyes of someone who was so far from him, or call it whatever you'd like - that made the show such a success. I don't say that people related to Mahira, they related to Falak, and I do agree that there were parts in the show where her acting needed work, but overall, I think that the show hit home for a lot of people. And honestly, I think that's the reason it won.

I guess, at this point, it's safe to say that we can agree to disagree, though. We're all entitled to our opinions, and anyway, I still stick with mine, so you can stick with yours. :)

I think you just kind of proved with your first paragraph here that it really isn't about who actually has the better performance, right? It's really all about who we like individually and that should be more than enough for us to just vote away..maybe even countless times. So, it's actually a fan war more than anything. Lets just ask our Pakistani popular choice awards which is in every other award show..that instead of calling it "best actress/actor - popular choice"..call it "who my favorite actress is" category. The fact that some fans of Mahira feel that Saba Qamar for instance was more deserving or that they wouldn't have mind had she won ahead of Mahira...just shows that it such an award is not about fairness, but favorites..exactly why we need better ways to acknowledge good performances.

And, we're not talking about SeZ the whole package..because as I said...SeZ was one of my favorite shows of 2012..see, I can actually ignore some of the problems I had with Mahira in that show and admit that I liked the show and I actually thought in the end, that Mahira was decent at most. It's about Mahira winning the award not SeZ winning best show. And, as mentioned..if this is our way of declaring the best actress..then I do find the need to rant over how Mahira is indeed overrated because the common viewer in Pakistan felt she was more deserving over everyone else. That in my eyes is being overrated. If you think otherwise, by all means do.

I'm pretty sure most of us were also referring to relating to Falak..we don't know Mahira personally so not sure how any one of us can relate to her...but obviously Mahira's acting is supposed to help us better understand Falak..and in my opinion, I couldn't get Falak at all at times..and Mahira's expressions had much to do with those bits..at least with me.
