Update on the sequels in 2012
It is very well known that we are going to see a lot of known characters(characters, and not just stars) in the year 2012, as it has been called the year of sequels by experts.
Here today, we give you a small update on the sequels that have been planned to air this year on your television screens. So, get to know about the stars, storyline, and happenings right here right now.
DREAMERS 2
The serial that aired on AAG TV, garnered some greta reviews and was a commercial success to. The serial, that was originally done to see the reaction earned itself a sequel right away, and GEO went ahead announcing the sequel in a hurry, but things went a little sour when troubles starting happening between the channel and creative team.
Our team tells us that the channel is interested in moving the serial from AAG to GEO TV(the big daddy), but there is little problem. When TVKahani spoe to the writer, he confirmed the news saying that the channel insists on some changes that the team is not okay with. For instance, the channel is demanding for the story to move from college to the lead's house, showing the problems they are facing there, i.d: turning it into another run-of-the-mill serial.
Well, given the problems, the chances of a sequel are very dim as both the partiest are adamant on their decision. We think the serial deserves a sequel, as fans are also waiting anxiosuly with it, but without losing the essence.
MERA SAAEIN 2
TVKahani was the first one to break the news of a sequel. The serial ended on a note confirming it. The latest update is that Fahad Mustafa is replacing Noman Ijaz in the sequel, playing Chota Saaein. Rumors were that Amina Sheikh character was totally scrapped from the storyline, but now the latest update is that the actress is back in the serial,and has already started shooting for it.
As far as the story is concerned, it is known that the story picks up from where it left, but only after a leap. The sequel is currently on-floor, and is supposed to go on-air by the end of 2012, on ARY.
The Baraat Series
2011 saw Taakay Ki Baraat, which turned out to be GEO's big ticket, creating records and touching the sky. The serial might not have been as good as the preceeding ones, but it surely earned itself a sequel. I fortunately got a chance to talk to one of the actresses of the serial who confirmed the news that a sequel is planned, but it might not go on-air until mid 2013, as the details are very sketchy at the moment.
We tried contacting the makers, but with no luck. Rumors are that the makers are trying to rope in Ayesha Omar and Ahsan Khan back in their original characters. This also indicates that the sequel will have a majro story regarding the couple. Rumors are that, the sequel will deal with an extra-marital affair between Azar and the foreign-returning cousin. Whox baraat is next? well, your guess is as good as mine.
Well, we are waiting to see what the makers have in store for us.
