Akshay can co-produce all films with me: Vipul Shah
Looks like director Vipul Shah is hoping to extend his winning streak with his lucky mascot and best mate Akshay Kumar. Shah, who is partnering with Akshay Kumar again for his third movie, said the superstar is welcome to co-produce all the films with him.
The duo have already co-produced hits like Namaste London and Singh Is Kinng previously are hoping to co-produce yet another film together.
"Akshay and I have co-produced two films. He's welcome to co-produce all the films with me, even the ones that don't star him," Shah said. The third film in question is being rumoured to be Action Replay – Shah's next which stars Akshay and Aiswarya Rai.
But Vipul says the film is not called Action Replay as there is absolutely no action in the movie.
"Apparently some write-up mentioned Action Replay as the name of my new film with Akshay. I said it was not. But the title stuck," he said, "I've just wrapped up the script and I'm at a loss as to how to categorize it. It's something neither Akshay nor I have done before. When I directed my first film Aankhen, I had defined it somewhat wrongly as a fantasy thriller. I'm not getting into classification for my new film until I'm sure," Shah said.
He said recent terror attacks in Mumbai led to a slump in the film industry but the sector is set to recover with the release of Shah Rukh Khan's much-awaited Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
"I think the horror of what happened at the Taj Hotel on 26/11 just made us feel like a city under siege. The entertainment business, I feel, will recover with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Not every week do we get a film where Shah Rukh Khan and Aditya Chopra come together," says the hopeful director.
