Slowly ananya's eyes moved , her brain started intaking wat
had happened , she remembered being dragged out of the car when she was half
asleep and vision of veer collapsing on the ground. Her struggle to free
herself from the arms which were dragging her other way and her mouth and nose
covered by white hanky , and she inhaled a weird chemical sort of smell ,
making her senses dizzy and making her leave the grip towards the reality and
she was dragged into numbness ,feeling nothing and going into state of sleep.
After assimilating the surrounding ,she got to know that she
was sited leaning her back to a tree among the dense foliage and she cud clearly hear the loud noise
of water falling from a height , stating the fact that their was waterfall
nearby
Under her hooded eyes she was stealing glances of the
surrounding without moving , she saw a man few feet away from her . with a hand
to his ears he was evidently engrossed in a phone call.
Ananya heard him
speak
"yes its done... no he didn't gave us hard time. When
shud we call for ransom'...he continued to talk.
Ananya quitely made an attempt to move without making
noise, she was bare footed .She must has dropped her footwear while she was being
dragged.
She carefully got herself in standing position with the
support of the tree and swiftly slid the
other way without making a sound and made a way into the thick woods. She just kept on walking ,glancing
behind , being afraid of being followed . she was feeling like a lost weak
kitten.
When she heard footstep she got alert ,she was near the cliff ,there was no way forward only
vertical downpour of ivory water falling down at a rocket speed . she turned right and hid behind the bushes.
Through the bushes she was only able to see the feet of the
person, she had held in her breathe ,due the fear of being caught .
The person began calling her name "ANANYA "
It was veer !
With a sigh of relief she raised her head and stretched her
hand and was about to reply him , but suddenly was she being smothered as a
large hand ruthlessly covered her mouth ,and other twisting her arm .making her
unable to move.
Veer was frantically scanning the arena. Sometime before
when he regained his consciousness . He replayed everything wat happened and was
scared as hell when he found ananya was not in the car.
After he ransacked the forest like mad in search of her ,when
he heard two men looking for someone , he hid and listened to their
conversation ,it was evident from their convo that ananya
has got away.
Picking up the near by wooden log , he moved behind them and knocked out one of them by
hitting the man at the back of his head. But this alerted the other one , he
quickly turned and and banged his fist to veer;s jaw ,causing it to bleed .
But in no time veer recovered from the blow and blocked the
other attack coming from the man by grabbing his fist by one hand and then
twisting it, and giving him a thunderous blow on his face , making him immobile and
lying flat on the ground .
By eyeing the surrounding veer thought ,she must have gone
other way as this was a dead end with the waterfall in forward direction .
So veer retreated from
the spot , ananya was struggling very hard to signal him but she had a tight
hold over her mouth , she began to wiggle her feet hysterically ,but her eyes
had lost the sight of veer,next moment she was bodily being carried the man , she
struggled but his hold was too tight .
With ananya struggling in his arms ,her mouth now stuffed with a hanky . He came
out of the bushes and was about to take on the path away from the waterfall, but he
felt his collar being dragged behind his back which inturn made him loosen the
hold on ananya and she took the opportunity to free herself ,and spiting out
the stuffed piece of cloth from her
mouth ,she turned to face him.
To her relief she saw veer , he had his arm strangled around
his (man's) neck , there was blood on veer's lips
But he elbowed veer's stomach and caused him to jerk . then
facing him he knocked veer out causing him to fall on the surface.
Then the man moved towards ananya with the horrific
expression on his face. Ananya felt like prey .
She backed out the steps in fear , making her stand at the
edge of the cliff.
The man stretched a hand to haul her , causing her to
flinch. She was on a slippery surface .
But as the man leapt forward ; he was flatten on the
ground ,with his face hitting the ground making unconscious ;as veer dragged his feet
making him loose his balance.
Veer still was on the ground . with head raised towards her.
She was relieved , &
moved her feet to go towards veer but due the slippery surface , she lost her
balance and was descended in the vortex of the water .

"Hey wake up " he blurted out apprehensively patting her
cheek ,she was lying still ,drenched in his arms. He quickly carried her
towards the land. He placed her gently on the surface and he pumped her stomach
,so to get the water off her nose and
mouth. She blurted out some water. A sense of relief engulfed him as she moved.
He pumped her tummy to make her cough out the remaining water. He swiftly
placed his ear to her chest to check the breathing movement which certainly
didn't seem normal. The basic disaster first aid skills came very naturally to
him as in colleges days he and his friends were into extreme sports and
trekking and other activities, which in turn skilled him in this field.
He shifted his gaze towards her face ,she was pale and still,
his hands curled into fists, he bend his head down with a reluctant expression
on his anxious face as though he is been
told to jump from a plane without a parachute. He took a deep breathe, moved
towards her icy lips which had turned colourless ; landed his mouth on hers. Bracketed
her face with his hands after uncurling
them. With his hands he made sure that her head is kept still in the position. He blew air in her mouth and
asserted the mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. He strongly breathe into her mouth
couple of times with one hand supporting her head and one he used to pinch her
nose .He repeated the process to clear the airway through her lungs and prevent
it from clogging. She haste out a cough and began breathing. He again placed
his ear on her chest to monitor her heartbeat and grabbed her wrist to check
her pulse. Gladly she was revived but she wasn't stable. The sound of thunder
dragged his attention towards the sky it was cloudy, giving clear indication to
of having a downpour. He gently lifted her up in his arm and began
walking.
Almost half an hour
of the trek with her in his arms he spotted a light among the foliage of the
dense forest. He ascended towards it and spotted a small cottage And knocked
the door impatiently
"Hello hello. Is anybody there . I need help" .Disappointed
with the no approval from the other side, he vigorously kicked the door and it
opened ;the door of the cottage
He called out ,if some is there .but he received no reply. The
cottage was small and not at all modernized
.He reckon if it was a cottage or a stable, heap of hay were on the ground,
with logs of wood assembled properly on one side , he turned his head to and fro & spotted a small cabinet. He placed Ananya
carefully ,who was shivering, on the hay. Hastily walked towards the cabin ,
luckily there were sheets and blankets in there. Though the white sheet clearly
seemed yellow and the two blankets were evidently sewed from the pieces of
rags. He certainly had no time to observe the quality of the clothing. He ransacked the cabinet inorder
to find something useful ; there were some utensils ,rags'.,he luckily found a
match box. He was startled by the noise
of roaring clouds followed by the blistering of the water on the roof .it had
started raining heavily. He grabbed all
the things and moved towards her
He quickly fixed
some hay to form a bed sort of surface , he spread the thin sheet over it.
He rushed to attend ananya,she was lying at other side, her
hair were damped ,she was completely drenched and was shivering. Veer took a
deep breathe as if garnering some strength to tackle some impossible task. He
covered her with the blanket ,again took a breathe, and glided his hands
beneath the blanket and peeled off her wet clothes. He placed all her garments
aside ; gently picked her up wrapped in
the blanket and placed on the hay bed .HE gazed at her face which was lusterless, not that she was glowing
earlier when she was fine. But now her facial condition seemed bad to worst . She
was pale and shivering
He swiftly made the
fire by arranging the logs and igniting
it ,bolted the door so as the room temperature won't drop down further. He
placed his hand above the fire to absorb some heat then; He rubbed ananya's
feet by his hands , he did the same with her palms for some time but she was
showing no sign of recovery.
He checked her pulse
which was weak, moving his ear towards her nose, it was evident that her
breathing was shallow, by monitoring he concluded that certainly she was
suffering from hypothermia.
He again rubbed her feet and palm but all in vain , currently
she was shivering violently, he placed his hand over her forehead; her body temperature
was dropping. She was in a very fragile state, guess lying on the threshold of
freezing to death. Realizing his incompetence to save her covered his face with
frustration, suddenly something clicked him. Perplex by his own thought, he
abruptly got up from her side and moved
towards the window, the turmoil going through his mind was clearly reflected on
his face. He pushed his hair back, standing the verge of decision making; he
was facing the question to do something he was suppose to do inorder to avert
the situation or just to surrender his inner voice of not to do anything he
didn't wished for; even if the situation demands.
It was raining heavily outside; she was on the brink of
fatal consequences. Now he had to reason this situation with common sense,
scientific knowledge and conscious. The first he indubitably possessed but the third one he wasn't sure, was going
in which direction. Should he listened to his conscious to reason this thing; BUT
his belief of touching other person who he wasn't having any affection towards
was killing him. However he has to consider the humanity factor. She was dying;
there was absolutely no time to reason
with his notion of her 'being in a
vulnerable position and him taking advantage of her'.
So kicked back his thoughts ; he had to do what has to be
done in his power to save her. His hands clenched in disappointment, he never
felt so powerless. He took few breathes of desperation to steady the tug of war
going in his mind. He glanced at her, she was feeble living being losing the
battle to defend her mere existence on earth. He shut his eyes tight , released some air of his lungs as in preparing
his mind to do something he never wished to do. He unbuttoned his shirt and
stripped himself. He sat on the his knees beside ananya, he moved his hand
towards he face; as if something was withholding him ; he clenched it back.
By gathering some strength to reason with his mind, he
slowly moved his hand over her forehead & then to her cheek, she was frigidity. He
lifted her blanket slightly and moved inside it. He lay beside her, he jerked
out all the thoughts of reluctance ,he glided his hand around her waist inorder
to face her towards him so that skin to skin contact can be made, to raise her
body temperature. Though how much scientifically he reasoned this in his mind
,he felt as if he has been told to walk on the surface of burning coal. He
pressed his chest against her to let her body absorb the warmth, he rubbed her
back to stimulate the heat. Few moments later he moved her up in a sitting
position in his arms as such her back would be in the proximity of the fire. He
let the heat from the from the flames transfer some warmth to her back and her
frontal portion was pressed against his body; providing her over all re-warming.
Couple hours later; she was in the insulation of his arm. Her condition
had became stable. Her shivering was moderate. but she wasn't conscious.
After some time she opened her eyes confused as to where is
she? She could feel the warmth from the fire and something moving on her back
continuously as though molding her as if she is sculpture. She cud feel his
body against her, she was not completely awake ,she was partially conscious,
her visions where blurred ,she slowly rose her head and raise her gaze upward,
with sleepy eyes her gaze met his anxious gaze. She examined his face he seemed
worried. He spoke out " ananya how are feeling ?".
She could not see him so
clearly with her blurred vision but subconsciously she knew with him nothing
wrong cud happen. She made absolutely no effort to regain complete consciousness
or to vitalize her brain for exploring the situation or even to eyeball where
is she or to inspect her surrounding. She just knew Veer was with her so
absolutely nothing can go wrong. She moved her still lying hands and curled
them around him and held his eyes with her own eyes for nanoseconds and a small
curve formed on her lips , in slurred speech she said "veeerrr" and
rested her head on his heart and closed her eyes and she went
into state of slumber. Veer was taken aback by her action. But he reasoned with
his thoughts that she was not in her usual state and such delusional behavior
was normal.
Shutting his
rebelling thought, he straighten himself and her on the hay and held her close
to sustain her body temperature. She had yet not let her grip loose and had her
hands around him. He eased her head on his arm. He finally closed his eyes , he
was feeling as if he had touched some loose wires and he was suffering from
pain from electric shock. But he cannot let go those wires even if he wanted
coz someone's life was depending on it. Finally with all the storm in his mind
and her in his arms, he finally surrendered to sleep.
Silence was all over
the arena, the rain had stopped but the fragrance of earth flowedthrough the atmosphere.
She gradually opened her eyes, she perceived a thatched roof, by revolving her
gaze left to right , her eyes fell on him. His magnificent eyes were covered
under the curtain of eyelids, with thick eyelashes she upheld her head so that
she cud survey his face ;as a helicopter might overview the land.
His skin was
milky white ,contrasting with his jet black. His perfect features. She smiled
thinking how her life has change within just days; 4 days ago she didn't even imagine to ever
perceive even a ray of sunlight. And now with him , her life was enlightened with
not only sunlight but with various colorful rainbows.
She went into memory lane
how he rescued her , how he fought for her. The way he claimed her to be his
wife when she had no one.She kept on gazing him

She leaned her head towards him and planted a small token of
love on his lips .She then filled her eyes with his image and placed her head
on his heart and fell a asleep with the
sweet feeling that love of her life was with her.
