Rose! You have posed such wonderful question with added bits of your thoughts..thanks a lot daya ..glad my questions made sense .so I guess here goes my thoughts on a few of these questions :)
1. was it right on his part to show dutta this path ?
I felt that Dutta-Baaji's past was not explored as much as it needed to be. To turn into such a life changing path at the drop of a hat surely doesn't make any sense to me either. And surely, I would agree that logically speaking as a friend you would try to console, support, and bring your friend out of his misery not feed the fire more..and push him into the more darker side of the lane...seriously showing your friend such a dangerous path is definitely not a wise and easily digestible desicion ... But I guess if I had to rationalize a reason as to why would Baaji support his friend rather than bring him out would be based on the assumption that he may have figured that nothing he says or does will bring this man back. If we have Dutta's character down right than listening is a bit of an issue for him...listening is an issue with dutta but still u cant agree with whatever dutta says , if one day he had said , "baaji i am really angry so push me into a well." had baaji done that also ??????? I feel that personality, qualities kind of root from far back. May be the person he was never had been seen to have an issue with listening for his life was not so complicated that people would try to tell him what to do, he was a happy guy living a decent life...but at a point when he shattered, and was so instable and vulnerable...Baaji saying anything may not have made any difference I dunno. But, personally, no I don't think taking Dutta in that direction was right..👍🏼.i think being the best friend ...he should've been more grounded and stubborn about what Dutta would be getting and avoided it all together...but then again where would this show be without Dutta Bhao.exactly ..lol..so Baaji forgiven for this deed
2. do u think Baaji was often taken for granted by dutta?
Most definitely ! Like you said he was almost like a punching bag. Dutta vents out his frustration and anger on him... I think it sort of comes more with the mindset that Baaji is his friend.also here i'd like to add that baaji never protested and took all his scoldings in good fun and that's why maybe dutta failed to realize that sometimes he crossed the line and made their relation appear to be more of a senior n subordinate than friends ..understands him..and he has this right over him lol...now i feel partially its not only Dutta here...but at times Baaji's character was not shown as being able to carry out too much as the right hand man which i feel was ridiculous.agree with u ..they should've surely showed him at work and yes its only human to make mistakes so naturally it may happen and D may get angry (this is all work wise I mean) but Baaji's character could've had more depth and potential...often felt it lacked somewhere...now yes in terms of Dutta getting on Baaji's case for personal issues ...that was like argh! Esp the FR bit you have mentioned...I think if Dutta knows and understood Baaji (esp after the years they've know each other and everything they went through together) I expected he would think at least that Baaji may have done with reason. Dutta knows Baaji lives for him and would do anything for that family yet i felt the bond and link btwn the two characters missed a beat somewhere during that track making the entire thing messed up ..i feel there was lack of trust from both the sides, baaji thought dutta will explode n not listen to anybody including him and dutta thought atleast baaji will not hide anything from him ever.
3. why did Baaji turn the fan in her direction and mislead her?
This was one I never understood ... and could not even reason.not only u but nobody around understood why it all happened ..lol.. one thing I absolutely disagreed with in this show was the when the FR happened...I mean c'mon you marry him and then tell him ..that just had disaster written all over it.absoutely ..anybody would have freaked out ..who wouldn't considered himself betrayed...gosh but anyway..I can't make head or tail of this scene...possibly just for the sake of dragging...maybe Baaji was a little nervous as well as surely this wouldn't go down to well with Dutta...and i think Baaji mentions later that it had something to do with the fact that he was in the middle of the Kala issues and then his dad came in picture ..so he may not have even given a ear to hear anything out...but beats me really ..but still thanks for sharing ur views .
Was it right on baaji's part to introduce dutta to the dark world?
It's not that, baaji was having a white collar job and he led dutta to this black world, baaji himself was a part of it and to an extent, happily a part of it. So, something which he feels is right for him, why would he feel it will be wrong for his friend?...yaar aish , baaji was not into killing ppl mindlessly for money, he must be into petty crimes but certainly not into such serious crimes which he put dutta into .. It was not that at that point when dutta expressed his desire to join the criminal world, baaji was a 50 year old man, he himself was of dutta's age, may be a year or two younger than him, to expect him to do moral policing is little bit of a more expectation from baaji... i agree baaji is little immature compared to dutta but still we shouldnt forget at that point of time dutta was heartbroken and really mad so instead of trying to console him he showed him this dangerous path? true friends dont encourage or make u jump into a well no matter how young they are Yes, this job could be dangerous for dutta but come one we are talking about guys, they don't have a protective attitude for their counterpart.
The taken for granted issue.
Dutta has this tendency to take people, whom he loves the most...agree with u be it nakku or baaji Not only dutta, it's a human trait, we all tend to take our loved ones for granted.yeah right The post FR part that you was mentioned, the turn that their equation took was something which not would have taken place in the way it did if the channel's writer wouldn't have joined the ph's cv's team, the timing of the FR was totally wrong ( he ruined the post FR effect and even tried to ruin dutta's character as well, thanks to Mishal, he didn't let that happen, completely, till he was there)
I think dutta was a little unfair towards baaji, post FR, I mean yes it is absolutely right on his part to be angry with baaji, for hiding the truth but snatching all the professional rights and passing it to suds was unprofessional of dutta, one should not mix his professional and personal life, it would have been great if they showed that dutta acted normally with baaji at professional grounds and behaved angrily on personal ones. yup that would have been better
The fan turning
Iska jawaab I bet baaji bhi nahin de sakta..lol. It was completely unintelligible to me. I don't support baaji's this action, even if you think that, naku should not reveal her face to dutta for coming seven births, you should keep your opinion to yourself only, it was a matter between a husband and wife, and no one should interfere in it.i know he stopped nakku once which could be ignored but again he made the same mistake by getting carried away with what babi said
So, that was my take on your questions . Great post and great questions, you almost covered all the aspect of the character baaji...u think so ? 😊
Thank you for the wonderful post rosie!..thanks to u for participating in this thread with ur intelligent replies
*****edit add:
A humsafar for baaji:
Yes, yes, I completely agree, that deep down baaji was a loner,..chalo kisi ko toh laga ..lol.. I mean everybody, expected him to share their problems, even babi, but no body bothered about his share of dull moments. So, somebody for him, just for him, only for him was needed...that would have been grt personally i wanted a character similar to bhagyashree's character in maine pyaar kiya to be introduced against baaji, and i wanted baaji's LS to be as endearing as "prem-suman's"
Madhu or roops? You know my answer!,
Lastly, who do u wished Baaji to be paired up with? Roops or Madhu ? though personally speaking I disliked roops a lot, I would prefer him being paired with dutta but not with roops.
