Nishtha you are so right! Its scary that audiences seem to like seeing women being treated badly!
One has to admit that the values are pretty regressive.

Speaking of which, I heard the Colors was supposed to be a progressive channel? If they think what they are showing in BVD is progressive, I am very very worried indeed!

I want to add my views too!! even though what everyone has said is very interesting and I agree with most of the stuff!
I think that yes they are both at the moment, equally unfortunate, but initially Bindiya was a lot more unfortunate than Vinay and in fact, she has slowly but steadily managed to change her degree of unfortunate-ness through her behaviour, maybe her previous experiences even helped her in that!
And it is true that neither of them talk about their feelings.. I guess Viany would feel like less of a man to talk about it (if you see what I mean) and Bindiya wouldn't want to talk because it would add to others' problems.

first of all thank you all..Sana..CB nd FORAM123 you all are soo right nd loved reading your all postšŸ‘
now Narangi well if you talked about colors being progressive what are they show?...take any in BV they show..child marriage..a girl married to a person double of her age and now they are showing that..she should accept him😲...in Uttaran..the antagonist is all about herself..she puts her first later others..she wants what she wants..she is ambitious so she is negative 😊...in LAdoo...havent they shown like..only tortures of women..the one who is like head of the village nd family is negative again!..nd those who are very homely..sweet are shown as positive nd protagonist...nd all the shows are doing well for themselves.aren't they?
did you get what i mean...this is our CHOICE..our LIKING which one hand talks about women liberation and on the other hand..love to watch..women suffering and fighting nd in opperession..why is a mystery to me 🄱

yeah you right..Vinay has his ego..nd his image..he has been brought up like this..spoilt brat ..born with a silver spoon..so he thinks he is right rest is crapšŸ˜†..he never imagined himself in such a situation so finding it tough to come in terms!!..but he has to surrender infront of fate sooner or later..as its only increasing his woes and problems...he cant run away from it..neither he can do anything..so better accept it..atleast give it a try..but no..because he is Vinay Sinha šŸ˜³šŸ˜†..
you right..Bindiya was..very...unfortunate..what she'd to gone through in start..was scray to say the least...😳 but she...somehow handled situation better than Vinay..nd lets accept it..Vinay was more unfortunate to start with as..Bindiya knew about the marriage beforehand..not Vinay..he was made to do all the rituals on gunpoint..so that bitterness is bound to be there...😊

Vinay has done nothing to achieve such a status anyways. I have always wanted Bindiya to show confusion and hesitation towards Vinay. But the way she shows getting hurt & jealous due to Chotu's presence is simply baffling to me. Its as if she does not see Vinay's anger towards her and is living in her own bubble where things will get better as time goes on. But that's not reality. I know that she is being an obedient wife here but I hope she does not fall in love that easily. I don't like when women are portrayed as an easy catch. That's just my personal view though.

Anyhow, I got a bit side tracked but I really do hope that BVD continues to be something different. For now, I am very thankful to the creatives for at least showing the two together in one frame 😳.

Cheers,
Sana~

I completely agree with you that it would be stupid for someone like Bindiya to accept Vinay openly. But, I am not sure if she has truly accepted him. Sure, she has definitely accepted him as her husband, just like she accepts her fate in any given situation but I am sure she does not love him, in fact she seems slightly scared of him most of the time ( with reason - he is always shouting at her and stuff..). As for the Chotu stuff, maybe she is in a state of quiet disbelief more than anything else. i don't know! but yes, considering everything that has happened it would be very silly for her to love him atm.

@nishta - fantastic post! i love the discussions that are spurring in this forum! thanks to such amazing posts like this one!

@ raee- i absolutely agree! they are both as unfrotunate as the other... well, i think bindya is a little more unfortunate, but ill elaborate on that later. *giggle* but all in all, great post!
@narangi_77 - u said if bindya had any self dignity, she would have left long ago. well, lets not forget the kind of character bindya is. She is as selfess a person can get.. and we know that from the past two episodes and also from wha)t we've been seing of her. But the most important point is to remember her conversation with vinay. (i think it was vinay -- or maybe it was someone else, correct me if im wrong *blush* She did tell him that she cannot get out of the marriage, because from where she comes, for a girls marriage to break is the biggest disgrace, for her and her family. Again, she so selflessly sticks to this realationship, just for her families sake. So we can't expect her to walk out, except ofcourse, if vinay does something henious, then ill be the first when to yell RUN!!! :D
@ sana --- oiiii, its soo great to read your posts! we've been away from this forum for so long, its great to be back and reading such amazing commnets! absolutely agree with everything you said. Just like you said, i also wish vinay would find out that this shaadi was just as forced on bindya as it was on vinay. if he realizes that, a lot can change between them. The saddest part is that bindya knew before hand that her wedding was going to be forced, but he was so helpless... she hopelessly sat at that mandap! if only vinay would realize that bindya is just as much as a victim as him, i think their realtionship could go SO many paces! and also, i dont think bindya has fallen in love with vinay yet.. SIGH! not after all the yelling that guy does! haha, but i do think that she has accepted him as her husband. I think she had accepted him the moment they finished their saath phere...but if she is falling for vinay, i think she's beeing quite realistic. She does understand that vinay has not accepted her, and it will take AGES for him to do so. also, about the lead pair being seperate! HAILA!!! the creatives are totally cashing in on it! they KNOW we want to see them together, and we wont stop watching until they do! haha! so theyre keeping that track running!!! but i think i really like this though! i love that it is taking time, so we get to see all the litte nuances in between!

@foram123 - heya there! welcome to the BV forum! we all hope to see much more comment from you! excellent post by the way. I do feel bad for both vinay and bindya... they are both such helpless victims of this cruelty... but i do think that bindya is less fortunate~ like you said, she does have her families support, but all she wants is vinay's acceptance...and that she is not getting! she gets insulted again and again in front of family, she sleeps in a cowshed - how much more unfortunate can someone get. She has to deal with the truth about the sinha family members wanting to kill her ...atleast no one is plotting to kill vinay!! with the kind of behavior people have with bindya, i bet she feels like a burden, how much of that guilt can someone deal with? Also, bindya can't speak out... atleast vinay gets to vent his feelings! Bindya keeps it all to herself! Well, most of the points i was going to make, you alread did! hehe! so thats about it! :D
excellent posts everyone! love this kind of discussion! KEEP IT UP!

to one and all in this Forum...
you guys are incredible... this discussion gives so many different views into human nature that HR can be redefined...

With all those analysis of situation from different angles, there is not much to say as a new input...
Its that everyone at some point of time, finds themselves in a situation which they would love to do without .. But how you handle it and turn it into your favor shows your strength... Degree of misfortune can't be measured. for a weak person incessant rains with good drainage system is a misfortune and for a strong one it would take a Tsunami to waver them... and as per me Bindiya is the stronger one considering all she has faced previously...

Honestly I think its the audience who are very unfortunate given the pace of the show- its high time Vinay gets tired of being a jerk and shows some humanity towards Bindiya, I have started watching this show very recently for the lead couple but I feel bored already, the other characters are quite uninspiring and frankly boring to watch, I will lose interest if I have to see random stupid chick characters like that Chuttu and good for nothing loser characters like Chacha ji upto some loony act or the other instead of story movement . If I am not wrong, its been LONG since Vinay and Bindiya have been married by force, may be its about time that Vinay rose above his victim act and acted like a MAN for once instead of letting annoying characters play him like a puppet. And yes , not only is that Panwaali or whatever her name is loud and irritating but her make up is also straining on the eyes, I am afraid that continued exposure to that character for long time can cause me some serious fictional show viewing damage. And it would be great if Bindiya drops her sati savitri act, grows a pair, finishes her studies and makes a career for herself or something and chucks Vinay for good. I also hope Vinay finally finds a REAL job (like normal homo sapiens) now that recession effect is over.

EDIT:

No offense to anyone, these are purely MY views.
