I was extremely dissapointed with Challenge 2009 season. there seemed no logic to the eliminations, to the judges round, to the voting round. People like Shashi, Arshad, Sunvinder and Manisha who were clearlry top 5 calibre were kicked out before even public voting. Then Niana and Mitika who never faltered in ANY performance were shown the door and singers like aasma, tarun, sara raza khan were hyped like no-one's business.
Other trained singers like Shujat,Pratibha were apparently not getitng as much support as lifeless singers like Shoumen n Vaishali (whom I wonder how they ever won the regional rounds). Yashita belonged to Indian idol n not saregama. Zaheer was elimianted for non-singing reasons. In short the show was the worst FARCE ever, worst singing reality show with tough competition from indian diol 4🤢
But thankfully saregama wa back on track with little chmaps 2009 and now megachallenge. Their standrads are back on track thank god for that. Little champs had some amazing singes like Abhigyan, Priyanka, Shreyasi, Yashodhan and Abhijeet Srivastava who are all better than top 5 of challnege 2009(except pratibha).Even the winner Hemant is expert in his own gnere and Yatharth/Antara ahve achieved great popularity.
Do you think saregama learnt from its mistake? will we eevr see a debacle like challenge 2009 again?😉😲

Agree with some of your analysis. Don't agree with a few. But in general, I am enjoying the present series immensely. Best of all, they have cut down on the dramas. Also the quality of songs nowadays is top notch.

Anybody following SRGMP Marathi will know that you can get really good TRP even without all those dramas and fights.

Your post is replete with so many contentious statements that I don't even know where to begin.

First off, you are inviting the wrath of the fans of

1) Vaishali

2) Yashita

3) Tarun

4) Asma (yes, she has fans too! )

5) Sara

6) Shoumen

Second, you are comparing kids (what? again?) with adults.

It's best if I leave it at that. The others will jump in, I am sure. Prepare yourself for an onslaught. Good luck.

Yashita was the best in C2009. Vaishali suxs. Just because of HR tantrums regarding her husband's accident and he cannot evern speak, she won. Anyways I like HR and his singing.

i have to disagree with ur post
first of im a huge fan of Asma that is clear for everyone to see
remember not only cud she sing, but she had an awesome personality was funny and cud host
she was an all rounder
as for the others
i like
yashita
sara
turun
all three had there own unique styles

i have to agree with u on vishali n soumen though

and yes as mister k pointed out how can u compare the kids with the adults
there is no reasoning behind that, kids have different voices to the adults
if u wanna make comparisons
compare adults with adults n kids with kids

For me Yashita sucks, and Iam glad Vaishali won. Yeah this season of C2009 sucked big time. Good singers like Mitika and Naina were sacrificed for can't -sing -to- save -their- butt singers like Debojit and Asma.

( No offense to you baz.)

I think the only weak season so far was 2009 Challenge. And the one or two singers is not the only reason. To make a show successful it has to have good packaging. Like some judges were not as good as the previous one's. The show had a bad start, the format was very confusing. And almost all contestants were low in singing compared to the ones from 2007, people had high expectations.

I usually prefer watching Indian Idol because the histrionics is entertaining. 2009 SRGMP was the only season that attracted me, and I watched with equitable interest. So I disagree with your weakest link analysis.

But yes I did have big beefs with the lifeless Shoumen and the arrogant wussy Tarun. I was less than impressed with Vaishali whose personality and stage presence were lackluster. However, she has grown in singing as well as presence so I now backtrack to say she is a worthy winner.

I did love Pratibha who I thought should have gone much farther, I still prefer her voice quality and performance quotient. I thought Zaheer could have been a formidable competitor if he could have stayed on. I adored Asma, not for her singing, but for her endearing personality. I know she was the Sanjaya Malakar of SRGMP, but people are overtly critical. She is not as bad as she is made out to me. Most importantly her hair is quite tame and gorgeous. And why I actually dearly hoped Yashita would win, and if its for her booty shakin so be it.

I'm a shallow person, I like to be truly entertained by television. When I'm interested in music, I plug in the i-pod or pop in a CD - and I am a stickler about speaker brands too.
