No, it’s 2025 where people aren’t exactly shy about asking for what they think they’re worth. Kalki’s team could easily afford Deepika and her entire army of stylists if they wanted to, that’s pocket change after the money they pulled in from part one. The question is why would they? From a producer’s angle, why pay premium for someone who adds nothing? She didn’t even bother promoting Kalki on her own Instagram. When the film released, no one was talking about her anyway, it was all Amitabh and Prabhas. And tbh, she doesn’t have a single bona fide hit that’s “hers.” It’s either Bhansali, SRK, or the rare outlier like Piku which survived on content. With that track record, it’s not exactly rocket science to drop her even if she was technically the lead the first time around.
