Crap show normalising verbal and mental abuse

Yet another crap show on Colors! They love promoting shows with such regressive outdated concepts. I mean 2 women are being daily abused on this show, how are they okay with showing something like this? I know this serial is for entertainment purposes but such blatant disrespect of a woman and showing her this weak in this age and time is appalling! Why is Mangal shown to be so weak and spineless? Why can’t she speak up for herself? Moreover she always has those deer caught in headlights expressions, it’s super annoying. Her sister Laxmi is also damn annoying, why doesn’t she speak up where it’s required, why take so much of sh*t from her aunt and her cousin? Mangal’s husband is out and out an abuser and men like him shouldn’t marry anyone in the first place, the most red flag out there! Pathetic! Her saas also has such outdated mentality, ise bahu nahi sirf haan karne wali naukrani chahie! Same with her sister Gayatri! These Indian serials need to STOP showing women so weak and pathetic all the time! And all other side female characters as so annoying and scheming as well, all these years later and they are showing the same BS! Not one character is likeable in this show! Shameful that Colors is promoting such crap!

So so true. I just don't realized what's the point of making such regressive shows. I'm still holding on to a hope that both Mangal and Laxami will transform. I hope they really start to grow a bad bone in their body because tolerating unnecessary abuse is a total sin. There is no benefit for making such shows.

Agreed. What do they want to show? That torturing the female characters like that equates to them being respectful and “sanskari” enough? Such women who don’t raise their voice and take so much of crap are equally to blame IMO. They are giving out such wrong message to our already patriarchal society! Same saas bahu drama with bahus having no spine as usual and keep on crying whole day I really miss the times when women were shown to be independent and strong, having a no nonsense attitude in tv shows, before they introduced all this crap. Not one show on Colors is likeable and progressive enough! It’s the same old drama everywhere. I do hope that Mangal grows a spine to tell off her cheating a**hole of a husband, she should divorce his pathetic self instead of fangirling him whole day, is she blind along with being dumb? Can’t she see that he doesn’t like her? He taunts her and berates her even for breathing.Her saas also keeps on conveniently blaming her for everything, turns a blind eye to her horrible son’s toxic behaviour, she is only good to Mangal when it suits her own purposes. Only her FIL is good, now the daughter has started insulting her as well, pathetic! Laxmi is another annoying idiot, why is she taking so much of abuse from her aunt and good for nothing cousin? She is an independent young woman with a mind of her own, so why can’t she speak up where it’s required? These 2 sisters are always crying on silliest of things and being such doormats all the time! It’s frustrating to see how a woman’s self respect is being torn apart everyday on this show!

I am wondering how the woman playing Mangal's character can stand doing this show. She is really talented and I keep wondering if there will be change in this show soon.....
