Why the hell was a Greek Challenge planned in Goa instead of a Portuguese challenge? Just because there are semi-European buildings in Goa and the only white chef they could find in Goa was Greek? What exactly is the logic here?

Nothing makes any sense this year (so far).
They’re encouraging chefs not to cook Indian by challenging them to cook Mediterranean, Italian, Portuguese ingredient inspired. And then they rave about Indian food and culinary history.
Also, Ranveer saying that Mediterranean food uses aubergines just like Indians do to make Bharta and chokha just minus the spices. So Mediterranean food is similar to Indian food. By that logic food from world over is similar because most vegetables and grains are eaten in some or the other country!

He is not exactly wrong. Greece and Rome had very ancient trade relationships with Malabar. And ottomons and greece had their whole think. So yeah, the whole region has culinary interconnections.
