Actress Paridhi Sharma, known for her performances in shows like Jodha Akbar, Patiala Babes, Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum, and Udne Ki Aasha, is set to make her Bollywood debut with Haq, alongside Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam. As she prepares for this new journey, Paridhi opens up about her ideas of happiness and wealth, and about the importance of staying grounded in a world driven by materialism.
Happiness Beyond Luxury
Paridhi believes that real happiness doesn’t come from wealth or luxury but from emotional richness and strong relationships. Sharing her thoughts, she says, “I can’t imagine myself sitting alone in a luxurious seven-star hotel, sipping wine. That’s not happiness for me. I’d much rather be in a simple, comfortable place surrounded by family or close friends, laughing my heart out. That gives me true joy. When you understand what really matters, maintaining balance in life becomes much easier.”
Her Take on Materialism
Reflecting on modern life’s obsession with material possessions, Paridhi recalls a teaching from Mahatma Gandhi: “A man’s greed is so vast that even the entire earth cannot satisfy it.” She adds, “That’s so true. So what are we really chasing? I’ve always believed that real wealth lies in nurturing relationships. In that sense, I consider myself very rich.”
For her, love, care, and meaningful connections hold far more value than material comfort or status. She feels that being surrounded by people who genuinely care is what makes life fulfilling.
Pressure of Image and Perfection
Speaking about today’s image-driven culture, Paridhi points out how social media and public expectations often create false standards of happiness. “It’s not just the entertainment industry — even social media constantly pressures people to look cheerful and perfect all the time. But that’s so unreal. No one can be happy every single day, yet we all fall into this trap of portraying perfection,” she explains.

The Importance of Authenticity
For Paridhi, being authentic is essential. “I find people like Rajinikanth inspiring. Despite being such a big star, he remains humble and simple. The South Indian film industry has so much to teach us about groundedness and authenticity,” she says.
She credits her upbringing for keeping her content and real. “I’m comfortable showing my true self, including my flaws. The real me is more interesting than any polished version,” she adds.
A Heartfelt Gesture
Recalling a touching memory, Paridhi shares, “Some of my fans celebrated my birthday with underprivileged children. That gesture meant more to me than any expensive gift.”
As she begins her Bollywood journey, Paridhi carries her core values — simplicity, gratitude, and emotional strength. “Those childhood days of innocence and real joy are priceless,” she says. “No amount of luxury or fame can replace that pure happiness.”
