All that useless social mobility business is primarily the nonsense the brits have. Not for americans the royal circus. Amerians define it as economic mobility😆

LOL yeah no I read your post again and absolutely nothing about it was “easily inferred”. Unfortunately most of us aren’t mind readers. “Easily inferred” ya sure bro😆all that clarification and the point you’re trying to make is still not clear.

I can guess though. The usual arguments. My response is the same as Arianna Huffington, back when she (and I) used to be considered liberal. When the house is burning down, put out the fire before planning to renovate. Time to put out the fire now, and the arsonists aren't going to be of much help there. So no Dems for me at this time.

too bad if you still cant get it😉... because in economics when we talk about a country, it's generally international comparisons. Anyway, here's a question that just might help you grasp things: how many Indians make it to the absolute top of a Brit company? Or even a European company? By contrast, we have a significant percentage of S&P 500 companies that are run by Indians. Whether it's absolute pay relative to US, or relative standing on social factors (where desis are not held in such high esteem), the UK economy is very limiting/ suffocating for desis. Folks will realize that when they step out of the hole that is the UK and look at the US.😉Hope this helps.😉

Never learnt about micro vs macro economics then? What social factors are you referring to that are so wildly different? And how does that even fit in to this conversation? You can’t just make wild statements about how “suffocating” something is with no context. I’m sorry but please feel free to keep winking away, I’m out ✌️

lol when we are talking at country level, its mostly macroeconomics. Micro would be at firm/ consumer level. Feel free to ask other questions you might have 😉

it should be clear what one means by social factors. Its because of these factors that very few Indians seldom make it to the top of the corporate world in the UK. Its still quite a racist society that way. Bud, you really need to get outa the hole that's the UK and smell the roses across the pond to see that.😆 You'd then understand how suffocating the brit economy / social stratification is.

btw, brits are even stilted in their speech. They take 10 minutes to get across a simple point. We have some stuffy suits who come visiting from there who just keep rambling, huffing and puffing a lot of pompous language. In that time, the markets could have tanked a thousand points and gone right back up. So much time waste, so very unproductive and so very inefficient. We just roll our eyes.😆

If the Repubs nominate anyone other than Trump, I'm voting R next time. Democrats are batshit crazy re: crime, border, economy, taxes, education. Not to mention the hypocrisy AND lunacy of cutting oil at home, then pleading with places like SAUDI ARABIA and VENEZUELA for more oil! And why the hell are we sending money to Ukraine? Ask Liz Truss. It's their backyard. The U.S. is broke. We have plenty of use for that money here.

Yes many democrats are crazy, but republicans are even more crazier and actual evils. They want to ban abortion nationwide, ban contraceptives, reverse gay marriage laws, cut social security, etc. I would rather live under democrats than republicans. An Ideal would be a sane independent leader though.

Crazier depends on your POV.

For me, supporting criminals over law abiding people is crazy. Putting criminals, murderers and rapists, back on the streets with no bail is crazy. No punishment for thievery and random violence is crazy.

For me, 2 million people crossing the border a year is crazy.

For me, schools being closed for 2 years is crazy.

For me, young kids being given sexually explicit books is crazy.

For me, kids being called *it* by schools is crazy.

For me, calling pedophiles minor-attracted persons is crazy.

For me, trans women using Title IX to compete in sports meant for biological women is crazy.

For me, biological women's safety being compromised is crazy.

For me, pumping money into the economy with 8% inflation is crazy because free money worsens inflation.

For me, cutting off oil production at home, then going to unfriendly countries like Venezuela is crazy.

For me, spending 80 plus billion on Ukraine when American taxpayers are hurting is crazy.

There are lots more.

I'd first want to fix the economy and crime and secure the border and make sure education is on track.

Will worry about abortion once I'm sure of a paycheck.

FYI. Supreme Court already ruled on gay marriage. Abortion is legal in all states, restricted to early months in some. Not sure where you're getting the *ban* from.

i think the economy is in really sad shape in the UK. These days, even the idea of a generous retirement pension there is getting 73 year olds to start working. Lordy lord, Charles.smiley36

10 Downing St is now an airbnb. Great for short-term stays.😆

btw, anyone notice how much the pound has been pounded recently. 😆
